How many people here are on MeWe? How do you think of it as a replacement for the G+ gaming scene?
I think it's doing better than I expected, there's a lot of good stuff there, especially in my groups!
If anyone hasn't added me yet, I'm there as Kasimir Urbanski
I'd like to know as well as I want to move away from Facebook rather quickly.
First I've heard of it. Signed up.
Are there any games going on there, then? Does it have communities like G+ did?
Only issue I've had is once everyone is awake, the lag on the site can be ridiculous. I usually have to hit refresh, wait ~5 seconds, and hit refresh again.
I dislike the preeminence given to chat in the interface. I'm not actively on the site, so for some of the groups (like the 100+ Inglorious OSR chat the other day), I just miss much of the talk.
Other than that, it's been OK. They need to update/make more clear how often update notices are sent. I've tried to setup my account to give me updates when I want, but I never seem to get any or I get them at random times. If you're an all-the-updates-all-the-time person, you probably haven't seen that.
The RPG Design group I joined on MeWe is quieter but "better" than the FB one. The FB one, the members were great--storyfolk and OSR-folk got along fine--and tried to give each other useful feedback. But the bloody mods (group members, not FB employees) kept injecting politics into the group, which was annoying.
I like MeWe better than G+. Seems like G+ had way too many virtue signalers and obnoxious political posters despite being able to block people. I'm not sure why MeWe is so different, but so far so good.
More quiet, but far less hysterical than the last year or so of G+.
I enjoy the OSR and Dungeons and Dragons communities on MeWe, but some communities seem to have died down a lot since moving to MeWe from G+. In particular I see less activity with Sine Nomine and White Star on MeWe than there was on G+, which is a shame.
Never heard of it. Just signed up. Will check it out when I have time.
I like it a lot. Once the migration actually happened and people started using it, MeWe's interface made sense. Now that most of the groups have taken measures to weed out pornbots it is even better.
I didn't really like the Google+ UI very much, I like MeWe even less.
While some of the groups I was in on Google+ have a MeWe presence, their activity seems less, and many of the individuals I followed didn't go there, and really there is no good replacement to continue to stay engaged with most of them.
I'll keep checking out MeWe, but it's drifting down in my list of to check places.
Maybe the result of the loss of Google+ will actually be lest time spent following stuff that really doesn't impact my active gaming...
Frank
I have a couple of MeWe groups, and while its not bad, you get a lot of drive by porn popping up. I can't say I am all that fond of the default emphasis on chat either.
It's a distillation of the non-dramatic elements of G+, it seems to me.
I ran a poll in the OSRIC group, and a small majority preferred the group chat function disabled. I turn off all the chat notifications on any group I belong to that hasn't.
I joined, and I've got a ton of "contacts" or whatever they're called, but, for the most part, I ignore it.
Facebook, Twitter, G+, MeWe, pretty much all "social media" is a shitty way to communicate. I far prefer forums-style stuff.

Ditto.
The software / site itself is a huge pain in the ass, but I've met a number or pretty cool people I enjoy talking to over there. Particularly in the Necrotic Gnome group, which is pretty active.
The Traveller group(s) are much less lively than I'd like.
I think over time it may get more active as people actually hear of it. I asked around and no one locally knew what it was. Others are on Discord which may be picking up part of the slack as well.
Problem is. Sooner ot later the people that were a problem on G+ will start migrating more to these other venues and try their old tricks all over again.
I have found it to be a howling wilderness of silence.
I've signed up to it it and joined a few interest groups.
I'll see how it goes.
It looks a LOT like the G+ communities and I can see some of the ones I was a member of have transitioned to over there.

I just signed up for MeWe and I sent you an invite.
It has been working for me.
I think it's ok but prefered the G+ interface.

I didn't move to MeWe. I'm using just my blog sites, YouTube, and Pinterest/DeviantArt these days.

Necrotic Gnome is one of the best groups on MeWe. There are no bots as yet. If MeWe is too quiet for your taste and you would like to change it, joining that group and making some of its members your contacts may go a long way toward that goal.
I joined MeWe back in October but largely stopped paying attention to it around March. Too busy with other things.
Wasn't a G+ user (or FaceBook). Tried MeWe for a few months when everyone switched over from G+, then quit. Prefer the forums.
I wasn't on G+ and deleted my FB account in disgust. I only use Twitter to follow publishers. I haven't looked at MeWe yet. Maybe I will give it a try, if using it is intuitive enough.
It's OK, so far. Some groups that aren't attended to on a regular basis have a bot problem.
So far I've joined Inglorious OSR, Call of Cthulhu RPG and Pacesetter RPG Fans. Any other groups I should check out?
I prefer forums and loathe social media, but eventually I will have to join a few for game promotion.
Glad to hear MeWe is growing.

My DCC group, if you like DCC.
For my part I've been quite enjoying it, particularly the Groups.
I've joined a number of groups and there does seem to be a fair amount of activity always going on. It's not as easy to keep track of everything as on a forum, or am I missing something?
Like some others, I preferred the G+ interface, but I am only in the DCC group and haven't fully developed an opinion on how I feel. So far, just in the realm of DCC, it currently rates below Discord and Reddit, but above Facebook and Twitter. Probably as useful to me, for what I want, as GG's forums. As of now, it has a spot in my rotation.
I never really went to G+ but tried MeWe. It's poopy and I'll tell you why. Another person and I helped someone make a custom cover page for someone else for a pdf they wanted to print out. Both of us came up with cool covers. Try and find them now. Even if I could remember what game it was for. I had a devil of a time finding the 'thread' several weeks later, let alone months later. If I posted it here, it would be found almost instantly and available for anyone that wanted it. MeWe is so far from what I use the blogs and boards for, I dropped out a long time ago.

This is a common problem with social networks because they want you to forget old content so you create
new content. In addition, #Facebook will arbitrarily hide and delete posts, #Twitter is full of discussions which might disappear the next day, #GooglePlus had no way to link to specific replies in a thread, and #Medium's discussion format was written by a masochist and is impossible to follow.
About the only ones which don't pull any of this shit are #Reddit, and classic forums like this, which is why I use them.

Is it? It's founder is a libertarian type guy who's obsessed with internet privacy.

I just added you. Apparently I signed up a while back but I’ve never used it.

Great, thanks! Hope you'll start checking it out now; especially the groups.
I went there and it seems it's mostly stupid memes and links to blogs I already read. I don't need MeWe to keep up with blogs, so big shrug.

It may be useful when I delete my Facebook.
It's ok I guess. Not really using any other social media platforms.
Subscribed to Arion Games and Necrotic Gnome and they seem decent.
More of a meh than a wow.
Still a big fan of the forum frame work as a source for information and discussion but I can see the draw of a social media platform for a more interactive chatting experience.
