Yes, I have to ask again, exactly WTF is Gleemax?! Also, will it be the same thing as D&D Insider?

It's an ugly-ass website, is what it is. I try to read it.....but just can't. I'm unable to stay on the site for more than a few seconds before I feel compelled to leave. So much for the "Digital Initiative"! :haw:
The name keeps making me think of "Jizzmax", or "Kleenex", or "Joygasm", and other stupid shit.
Their brain-in-a-jar motif makes me think of some kind of ugly-ass Gamma World/Paranoia hybrid. I am NOT diggin' it. :(
Wizard, Dragon, Dungeon -- all strong trademarks. Gleemax... no. It'll be interesting to hear the inside scoop in a few years on what the hell happened with WotC/Hasbro this year.
I just want to know who came up with the name, and why?
jesus people, we've been over this ground before. In fact, in the first thread of this title.
It was an old, inside joke at WotC - that the company was run by a brain in a jar called gleemax. That's it. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's Wizards attempt at an ENWorld-esque site.
Hey, I missed that the first time. Brains in jars are always cool...

That's what I used to think. Somehow Wizards has managed to ruin the concept.

Hm...
AWESOME!
Still waiting for the RPG-Sourcebook, that wraps up all the Universe info.
GURPS: Captain Future, I heart thee.
Yeah I missed this the first time as well. Did we all agree it's completely fucking ghey and a waste of good advertising dollars?
I mean I have bills they can pay if they just want to straight up waste money on shit.
I'm just suprised Dungeons and Dragons hasn't been tacked on as a Hasbro sub-forum under 'Ants in the Pants' and before 'Littlest Pet Shop'.
guess that's worth being optimistic about... :raise:

This would be rather difficult. Which version of Captain Future would we be talking about?
First the anime butchered Edmond Hamilton's novels. (Not that they were particularly good to begin with... they strongly reminded me of the very early Perry Rhodan.)
And then Arena Synchron/ZDF further butchered the anime series to make it into their vision of a clean saturday afternoon children's programme.
Give me the Raumpatrouille (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raumpatrouille) RPG instead!
(No brain-in-a-jar there, no Gleemax.)

I want them all, too.

But so we got the great soundtrack. The dubber giveth, the dubber taketh away.
I have to admit that I own the Perry Rhodan RPG. And even the fantasy "rules" they had that used the same system. In both you have to construct your armor by the millimeter (that's 4.97096954 × 10-6 furlongs for you imperialists).
It's sad that Professor Simon Wright is your first thought when it comes to brain jars. What about the Providers?

But a Buegeleisen on the console!
Also, Dietmar Schoenherr.
Settembrini, you're supposed to be too young to remember Captain Future.
Pundit?
You know how there's good shit? When they mean good stuff that's probably bad for you? And you know how there's holy shit? Like when something's so amazing that even angels soil themselves when they see it?
Well, it's not that kind of shit.
You know how there's bad shit? Like when it hits you all at once, the cherries and raisins, and big heaping cup of Oral Fleet laxative, and the toilet's three blocks away and it's occupied when you get there?
Well it's not as good as that shit either.
I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone at WoTC and everyone here and around the internetz who actually gives a shit (good, holy or otherwise) about any of this stuff, for entertaining me for the past few days.

Well, that's what we're here for..! :D
