A bunch of old white guys made a hobby and now that's a problem because old white guys are inherently racist so we need to take the hobby away from them in an effort to make marginalized groups feel better.

Okay so, what you're quoting is from an email delivered to the person who was just, like, at Gencon. They weren't there crusading or being intimidated; they were just chilling. And this person who sent the email, they were happy to see another person of color at an event they've been led to believe is really discriminatory and intimidating. You obviously did not comprehend anything you read, so before you go giving grammar advice maybe you should take some classes in reading comprehension.  The email as not delivered to someone who was like, at Gencon. by any definition she is a crusader as he she has made a career out giving interviews and participating in panels complaining how gaming is too white.

At Gen Con I saw plenty of African American gamers, heck I probably saw blacks who weren't even from Africa or America. I also saw many same gender couples very open about who and they were - with no one hassling them and no effing 'micro-aggressions' going on.

Heck, during one of the times I had to sit down in lunch area because of pain in my legs I wound up sitting next to a middle aged couple that was a man married to another man. They grew up playing old school D&D and now love board games. We joked about the Klingon symbol from TOS already looking like a 'rainbow' or pride thing over the years.

Gen Con even had special rainbow gay pride t-shirts for sale.

You say that because you already knew it.  The only way posting a random email is of relevance is because it pricks confirmation bias.

It does nothing to show this kind of attitude is typical or common.  If you think it is common, it is because you already had some reason to believe it based on prior experience or belief.
