This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Thank you Gary for the past 35 years of having one hell of an adventure after another, for all the laughter and joy around the table:)  Thank you so very much!

It's pretty hard to even think what other activity could have engrossed me like RPGs have. A toast to the man, but what substance would be appropriate?

14 years sober, but I'd toast a virtual cognac to the man. I think I opened one recently, given that David Ogden Stiers just passed. :D

Good Lord, there was a gaming con right here in Cincinnati over the weekend, and I never even knew it! I probably wouldn't have been able to attend due to work and my gaming group meeting, but still shocking. Maybe next year...

for me it can't be overstated!  ;)

Yeah, I spent many hours of my youth drawing dungeons and pouring over books of arcane lore and imagining taking part in epic quests of exploration...and not nearly enough actually playing the game unfortunately.  But even so, GG's creations provided endless grist for the mill of my imagination.

Yes, it's surprisingly big, with an attendance of 1300-1500 through the weekend. I had a good time going this year after being invited by one of the organizers, Last year I just missed it. Learned about the convention date on that Sunday afternoon of the weekend that CincyCon IX ran.

Gronan, I'm very sorry about the loss of your friend. I hope it brings some comfort that he touched, in a positive way, the lives of so many people all over the world.

Gary was one of my heroes. I was lucky enough to score a signed copy of his last RPG, The Lejendary Rules For All Players. I wish I had had the chance to meet him!
