This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I was invited out to game with friends last night. I'm always hesitient because this involved the risk of facing some of my personal issues. However I went over to a friends house, met his wife and daughter (who is at the non-verbal stage) and did well.

We chatted a bit and I pitched a number of fantasy seeds I'd worked up since at great length I was told that's what they preferred to play.

Pardon spelling errors/etc with pitches I was trying to get several done in under an hour.

And of course the request from our host was to do my superhero game, of course, being the creator I didn't even need a rulebook to run it. (Albeit it is sometimes good to reread what I wrote because sometimes I forget minute changes I made from playtests to final run.)

The player's fought an old "giant monster" style foe I've used before called the Terrordrone (the newest iteration (sketch) is here )

The thing is a nanite construct so if even one teeny bug "molecule" survives the whole thing can rebuilt itself.

Our heroes were Devilhunter: A young man possessed by an Oni, held at bay by the ghost of an ancient martial arts sensai bound into his manriki-gusari, Network (played by our host): A genius with a cyberhelm that lets him interface with nearly any machine, and search vast databases for knowledge, and our new heroine--who has yet to pick a name, a weather controlling, shy girl played by our host's wife.

After much hard work with mystic chain, EM pulses that didn't quite catch and lightning bolts, a boosted signal that overloaded the nanites communication array, a chi-soulfire blast, and finally arctic blizzard they had the silver nanites frozen in drift like piles.

That was the first part of the game. They then discovered they were being haunted by a bat-face individual with mystic powers named Nocturne, but all was not as it seemed, he demanded they hand over the Penumbra Prism (a terrible evil artifact that can seperate the "shadows" of evil in  a sentient's heart warping and corrupting them)--the item was wrapped in a forcefield in the base they'd usurped from long missing heroes.

After much fencing verbally, and plans to doublecross Nocturne who claimed to have imprisoned one of there missing teammates (absent from the game), they discovered there base invaded by a supervillain (retired) called the Gamesmaster--a polite gent who claims to have built the base in the first place, and tells them not to  trust him, or anyone. After more shenanigans involving the madness of deceptive second guessing( I.e: I think he wants us to think, that we think we know what he's thinking, because if we think that what he thinks we think then he's planned us to think we think ....etc )

The players finally risk sending one person to be tested by Nocturne's mystic Silver Sword of Veracity, to prove his claims of being a well meaning in trying to rid the world of the Penumbra Prism, and their claims of being heroes in spite of being laired in a base built by a supervillain (even if it was used by the missing hero team predating our current group)

Finally Nocturne is approved to take the Penumbra Prism, and exile the dark thing into the void.

The hero PC's challenge Gamesmaster to games they think they can win (Xbox360, football, unfortunatly not.) then challenge him to roshambo--which he loses by dodging in spite of being an old man, and takes his turn on the challenger--who "wins" and Gamesmaster claims the drink anyway.

Pardon me? Sir, don´t want to be impolite, but I did not get the point of your post. Care to explain? I´m non-english speaking, so it probably is my fault. Still I´d like to know what is being talked about.
Thanks!
