Hi Guys,
Are any of you guys willing to offer me ideas or NPCs for my upcoming game session?
Our next game is this Sunday afternoon.
The crew of the Maggie Thatcher is on the planet Biter in the Sword Worlds Subsector. They are trying to work their way back to Tarsus/District 268 after one hell of a mis-jump landed them in the Lanth Subsector a few game sessions ago.
Right now one of their goals is to find some unusual equipment that they are thinking of installing on the Maggie T. - and someone to sell that stuff to them.
Any ideas ?
Do you need more details from me for context?
- Ed C.
Do you want complete characters? Or just ideas?

Both,...either . Go for it .
I can re-shape it to fit my group If I have to.
(Remember, 5 players, 4 of them women)
The ship is somewhat 'famous' in the Marches in and near District 268 in a pop culture/ Robin Hood sort of way. The crew of the
Maggie are now known for fighting pirates and helping out other merchant ships.

You ever make use of my plot hook/sprawling campaign idea on Mithril? :)

Bingo!
Give the players a taste of fame, since they have a reputation. Make sure that you include annoying paparazzi, obsessive fans, and a supposed tabloid scandal that never really happened.
All of this is just the sadistic amusement on top of them trying to acquire the unusual equipment they are looking for - perhaps they can figure out how to use their fame to help them find this stuff.
Brazzatnatlar - A wealthy vargr muslim on pilgrimage. He's not real clear on the theology but has great enthusiasm.
Saib - his human "valet" who is actually a con man who's managed to convert a vargr to a human religion for nefarious ends.
Madam Pelinora - A human knight of the Imperium on a quest for a lost warship named Glaissant which as been sighted in the area recently. It is supposedly equipped with a prototype ECM system. She is a large, domineering woman with a hearty laugh, a shotgun and a broadsword.
An unlikely romance ensues. :D
I went and looked and most of what I've got to hand are being played by somebody. Or was/could still be.
These I threw together in a hurry and really have not touched much. I've got the original GCS data files somewhere. They are FAR from perfect. But they were useful.
The setting is the classic Traveller adventure 'Death Station'. They are all on this mudball doing manual labor strip mining and being a pain in the ass to the local administration. The local lab ship, and only jump capable ship in system, goes incommunicado and the local admin realizes he could write them off the books and ship them out if they solve this one little issue.

I starting laying the seeds for it - but so far the tree has not grown. (so to speak)
Also - I know I printed out that PM you sent me - but I can't find that printout now.
(LONG story involving over-cleaning the game area and carpet cleaners that never cleaned the carpet....)- Ed C.
Dar, Others ....,
Any more stuff??
I need to stir my encounter and plot stew ...more stuff in the recipe migjht interesting.
Remember Biter is on the main Imperial Jump route through Sword Worlds space and is on the paty that connects the Five Sisters subsector to the rest of the Imperium.

There should be plenty of plot hooks here...

If the PCs need equipment, have them directed toward this guy as a possible source. He's a modified version of a patron taken out of some old Spacemaster adventures.
Emerich Rach, a distinguished and powerful merchant who is well connected. The guy looks like Grand Moff Tarkin, is very calm and collected, and frequently puts his hands together in a "steeple" fashion when talking to others. He has money and connections and can get the players the stuff they need. He'll even give them a good price if they help him out with a certain unsavory task. Perhaps he wants them to smuggle some cargo or do some damage to a competitor's warehouse etc.
Alternatively, have the PCs ask around about a place to find their equipment and be directed to someone with a shady reputation who is purported to have all the stuff they need. Turns out the dealer is working with (or is one of) the pirates they've encountered previously. Can the party carefully negotiate a deal to acquire what they are looking for or will they (and you know they will) just start blasting away in order to kill the pirates and take their stuff.
First of all, I'm not at all familiar with Traveller, but here goes:
Are all the PC's female?
Maybe, with there fame and fortune they get "groupies" or in the very least, hanger-ons. However, whoever they've "hooded" is paying them as a spy/assassin. The more subtle they can be, the better :D
Puer Aeternus
He has the equipment the characters need. Careful though, he is a prankster, and the very nature of his illegal equipment trade and service has made him very hard to locate.
His pranks are annoying, and funny only to him, usually taking the form of some odd ball requirement for the equipment he sells.
His police band decoding and decryption equipment translates everything decoded into an obscure language of some species that is difficult to under stand to the species using the equipment. For instance, humans using the equipment will get translations into a language based on smells and surface temperatures.
