This board needs a 'like' button.
ZOMG! Sweet, dude! Thanks.
:)

Got it. Well spotted, Jeff.
Maybe this could mean that the Traveller: The New Era box I bought 10+ years ago, could see some use... other than as storage for my old Illuminati ccgs... I wonder where the books, maps and charts are.
I used to own that game...
Cool, thanks for posting about this.

Add Supplement 4: Citizens of the Imperium (http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=80146) (currently $2) to get 12 additional careers (many civilian) and bow rules and you've got everything you really need for Traveller.
It looks very much like The Traveller Book just with a slightly different format. It has all the same art anyway.

Its missing the section on pharmaceuticals and character improvement, but that is the only content difference IIRC.
I love me some old-school Traveller! My brother and I once sat in the breezeway at Origins and tried to rope people into playing with us; we recorded the games and put them on-line at the Internet Archive here (http://www.archive.org/details/ClassicTravellerOrigins) and here (http://www.archive.org/details/MoreTravellerOrigins). We really had a blast, and I think we're hoping to do it again in 2011.
THANK YOU JEFF!!!
I am in the process of getting my RPG library redone on PDF and this does the Classic Traveller spot very nicely!
John Morrow is quite correct. If you are new to Classic Traveller, Citizens is probably the most useful supplement for the game.
With this download, don't forget that you get more than the Core Book. It's 3 downloads - Book / Charts / Adventures. The two adventures are Mission on Mithril and Shadows. Both good stuff, but should be modified and enhanced by the GM to fit the playstyle of the group. Done right, Shadows can be a nasty adventure.
This is, indeed, awesome news.
Starter Trav has a really nice set of RPG starship combat rules, too, using the range band system rather than the miniatures-based version in the original set.
Wow. That is very cool. Thanks for the link, Jeff.
