This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Darn it, where's that list of "most talked about" tabletop rpgs again?

Every now and then someone posts a link to some table where they rank the most talked about (online) tabletop rpgs, or something like that. I can't find it right now, could someone post it again? Sorry.

Furthermore, I consider that  This is Why We Don\'t Like You thread should be closed

No, but that's useful too. It's bigger and more detailed, with multiple columns.

You may be thinking of the "The Hotness" on rpggeek.

But there may be something you could do with one of these tools: http://www.tripwiremagazine.com/2011/07/keyword-trend-analysis.html

I think they just show trends for keywords in dynamic content (including twitter and google searches) but there may be something specifically for static web pages (based on snapshots over time) and fora.

Considering how enworld was originally set up as a d20 board, I wonder how skewed the results are. A lot of conversations are happenning on Facebook and G+ that have not been sampled.
"Meh."

They sample all sources that can be obtained using an RSS feed, except for the home message boards of the game companies themselves.

If you think that is skewed, I am sure Morrus is open to any suggestions.  It's mostly a tool he is using for his own internal purposes, and he wants it as accurate as humanly possible.  He has no d20 agenda, when it comes to that tool.

Im having a hard time believing Aberrant gets talked about more than FASERIP

Yeah, there's some surprising data there.

BESM is still on the chart after all the brutal criticism and the publisher scandals.

Star Wars: Saga/D20 is doing better than Edge of the Empire?

Tahmoh

Think the list needs filtering abit to cut out older sources of info, i highly doubt some of these older/dead games are being talked about as much as the figures show.

Xavier Onassiss

I think the real question is, talked about where, exactly?

The ENworld forums?

A different forum, or a group of forums?

The internet as a whole?

The FLGS?

The webmaster's basement on game night? [/snark]

First, BESM was critically acclaimed.

Second, I'm curious about the world you live in where scandals make something less likely to be talked about.

BESM wouldnt be surprising if this was 2002. I guess its just that these results are taken "over all time", when I was expecting something that was looking more at current trends.
