Title: CoC never fails
Post by: Imperator on August 17, 2009, 03:36:23 AM
Hi, people.

Right before the holidays, we started a new campaign for CoC using the adventure in the 5.5 corebook about a guy who needs that the PCs go to an abandoned farm and finish a sort of exorcism. Yesterday, just after returning from the holidays, we started "The Corbitt House." Everyone but one player were new to CoC, though all are familiar with BRP (they're my RQ Vikings crew).

As usually happens, the game was a blast, and BRP shined as usual. Quick, easy and fun. Players loved it, I loved it, and the classic adventures work like a charm.

Didn't want to write a full AP (a bit busy for that), just testify to the great game that is CoC.

CoC rules.  Probably one of the best RPGs ever written.

Gamers might fail me, but CoC never has.

I have run The House a dozen times.  Its pure awesome and such a great way to introduce noobs to CoC.   Years ago, an acquaintance asked me to run it for his son's 13th birthday.  So we had a group of 13 year old boys who never played an RPG and they got into the game so intensely that it was a blast for the adult gamers who were watching.

Yeah, CoC never fails.

Much love for the Haunting scenario. It kicked off a spectacular campaign 20 years ago when I first started playing CoC. I run a session or two of CoC every October and it's always a blast.

Players are naturally inquisitive, and "get" it (i.e. CoC) very quickly.
