This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

If there can\'t be a TPK against the will of the players it\'s not an RPG.- Pierce Inverarity

Cute, I think they get him wrong though.

If anything, Cthulhu is a personification of the utter lack of importance of our species.  Cthulhu isn't really interested in our souls, he's got his agenda and if wiping out humanity is the best way of getting to that goal then so be it.

As such, I think that it would be funnier if the advice played up the pointlessness of human existence and Cthulhu's lack of interest or concern for our affairs.

This is what I love about gamers:
total seriousness while discussing subcultural intricacies. More Power to Mr. Analytical!

Dude R U for real?
This was just awesome, if you think you could've done it better, then why don't you just show us.

Mr. Analytical

I'm a comedy geek... sue me.  I don't think it works, the basic gag is a bit facile and it's not really all that much about cthulhu.  It's a nice try but I didn't find it all that funny.  It's cute rather than funny.

Balbinus

Mr A is right, making Cthulhu hostile to humanity utterly misses the point of the original fiction.

The fact it's a common error doesn't make it any more correct.

Mr. Analytical

Thanks B :-)

You see if they'd had the woman from the Evil Dead it would have worked loads better.  She could have been all quiet and sympathetic at first "You know... you really have to think about your feelings rather than his.  I think the first thing you should do when you get off the phone is give yourself a big hug because if I were there's that's what I'd do before SWALLOWING YOUR SOUL! GRAAAAAAH!"

Ok, you're right it could've been even better, but nevertheless I think it was a great idea.
At least tell me you enjoyed it, 'cause I sure did.

Mr. Analytical

It's fine... It's not like "OMG Dude dat was HI-larious!!!" but it was mildly diverting for a few minutes.

Though admittedly one of my favourite sketches is THIS, which I imagine is largely impenetrable to non-British types.

mattormeg

Appropriate.
After all, you are pretty much impenetrable to non British types.

(kidding of course):D

Hey, 'll have you know that I'm VERY attractive to a certain kind of homosexual man!   ;)

UmaSama

Men, :unitedkingdom:  are wicked weird.:11zblink:

Mr. Analytical

What?  It's a man with two arms pretending to be a man with one arm pretending to be a man with two arms pretending to be an intelligent Orange in order to get green jelly.

What's weird about that?
