This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Another fucking D&D4 question

Dude, let us know when they go up for auction will you?
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

If you want to make an early offer on something there's a list here:

I already sold the Erol Otus books though.

Pierce, your book got sent out, I'd anticipate it being there by the end of the week.

I can't justify spending any money on RPGs at the moment, but I'll swap you some character portraits. I'm interested in HB and DitV.

This is the only example I have online:

The past lives on in your front room
The poor still weak the rich still rule
History lives in the books at home
The books at home

Gang of Four

Droog -

Don't know that I'm giving those two up, actually.

But I like your art. Do you do monsters and stuff too?

Yes, I do. I don't draw as much as I used to, so an excuse might be good.

Aha!

Now I just have to write a module and I can hire you to do the art!

You are going to regret this later. Don't do it.

That said, keeping your 3.* game
a) core only
b) in the low levels (in 3.*, that's 1st to 7th)
is the road to painless gaming. Beyond that, the crunch starts to become so thick that it's hard to keep track anymore. Well, good luck and all, but I'm not following you there. (he said, looking over a field strewn with mangled corpses)

Isn't it funny how an attitude that was mercilessly ridiculed in the late 70s has become standard expectations for many? Just  see the WotC boards for examples.

Well, can you really blame us?  The glut of absolute shit that has flooded the market since the release of the OGL is absolutely staggering.  We're talking Atari 2600, vidgame crash of '84 levels of shit.

I mean fuck, look at Mongoose.  They basically got where they are by just dumping asstons of badly edited, badly written tripe, and when that stopped being profitable and their audience wised up, they jsut started buying up licenses like they were going out of style.

Wizards' stuff ain't exactly 100% quality ever time, but they make a hell of a lot more effort that any of the competition, which is why they're still the biggest producer of D&D sourcebooks, despite that being supposedly what the OGL was to prevent them from having to produce in such bulk.

Hi Melan -

With the game sale, I'm not selling everything, I will regret it, and it's not really because I'm dumping everything for 3e, it's because I'm desperately in need of cash this summer.
