Title: A new campaign
Post by: KrakaJak on September 08, 2008, 09:20:35 PM
So, I'm running a new game again. The Ninja Turtles Game went pretty smashingly until it stopped. Oh well...here's my new campaign ideas:

Scion: A globe bashing trek across the Americas as a new, modern Pantheon emerges. Will the Scions of the old Gods align themselves with the new powers of Greed and Freedom or will they subjugate and subdue them. All the while, the Titans continue to rise from the earth taking revenge on the begotten of their enemies.

Hunter: The book is so vast, that Id have to have a sit down with whomever wants to play  and hammer everything out. I'm totally down to run this thing BTW. I've got ideas ranging from a return to Foreville Redux (A remix of my H:tR campaign) to a Monster of the Week grindfest.

Castles & Crusades: A simple fantasy dungeoncrawler, with a little bit of political intrigue thrown into the mix.

Traveller: A fly by the seat of your pants, randomly generated standard Traveller campaign. Where a soldier, a government agent and a homeless man (or whatever) buy a ship and go on planet hopping adventures together to pay the bills.

Star Wars SAGA: A Jedi turned Space Pirate and his crew of merry men do good deeds and fight the good fight, Guerrilla style.

Those are my ideas...

Comments, criticism, suggestions?

Are you trying to start a new campaign via play by post, or are you looking for individuals in your local area?

Well my vote would be Castles and Crusades.  Nothing beats a good old dungeon crawling game.  Besides all the traps, hidden doors, and monsters around every corner, I like to see if the group is capable of putting their egos on a shelf and actually get out alive and in better shape then they were before.  Just curious as to what political aspects you might throw in there.

Scion would be my second choice.  I am not sure about my contribution to the ideas you are looking for.  My RPG gaming is limited to old school stuff, but I am willing to learn and read posts to keep up, not to mention by product every so often.

For the Dungeon Crawl game, the players would be sponsored by different kingdoms to retrieve artifacts. Depending on the players actions there-of would swing the balance of power between the different kingdoms.

Any ideas you have are welcome.

I mean, even if I don't use them, they may inspire something else...or even inspire something for your own games!

Rip off Milton Bradley's old Dark Tower game.  I posted about it before, but the wandering around the countryside battling brigands looking for keys to unlock the Tower and face the big bad is distilled Olde School.

I would, except I still don't own a copy of that game :(

It's still on my want to buy list though, and working it's way up as I've begun to warm up to .pdfs ...

I checked out FtA yesterday.  It was very appealing to my old school nature.  I might pick it up here in the next week or so.  It has good reviews, even though I only saw two of them.  Definitely looks like fun.

Care to tell us about the TMNT campaign?  Great game, but haven't played in a long time.  Still got the full set of books though.
