This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Well according to this Thread...the Sixth WoD game has been revealed.

There is a Cypher in the back of the Changeling Book.

After it has been cracked the cypher says this (according to German People who already have the book)

"The Hunters Arrive Twothousandeight"

So...the new line maaaaay be Hunter.

As in the longest F'ing campaign I ever ran Hunter. But new!

Hopefully this time the Hunters won't have spurious voices in their head giving them kewl powerz. I was bitterly disappointed by the original Hunter: the idea of playing humans in the WoD who managed to hold their own through skill and training and teamwork was so appealing, but of course White Wolf had to give the Hunters the standard White Wolf Transformatory Experience Which Turns You Into A PC.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

If you think that's going to change, you're shit out of luck!

Damn. Once again, that Clannad "song" is stuck in my mind.

Harry's Game?

A game about harry?

"Herne the Hunter" from the Robin of Sherwood?
Swords & Wizardry & Manga ... oh my.
(Beware. This is a Kickstarter link.)

Sosthenes

"The Hunter", of course.

If I remember correctly, the lyrics go like this

"hhhmmmmhhmmm. The Hunter - The Hunter. hmmmmhhmm *80synth* hmmmmh"

Playing mortal monster hunters is already supported by the core book and its supplements, so even if this tidbits turns out to be true and the next game will share some similarities with old HtR, there's probably going to be much more to it than that alone. Also, at least until now the nWoD lines after the Big Three haven't had hardwired connections to any of the others, so I doubt that WW will break that pattern and produce a "kill the evil vampire/werewolf/mage" sort of a game

A fine show, incidentally, and the reason why I started listening to Clannad in the first place.

I know its going to be almost a year before we start reading the previews for Hunter, but my first thoughts are I don't like it.  WoD already has an excellent system for humanocentric protagonists and can model the "hunters of the dark" style games quite easily.  All you need is the core book, Armory, Antagonists and -- if you must have cool powers -- Second Sight.

If it is Hunter, it'll be the first core book in the new line I won't buy.

Don't dis' the BBW's... I'm sure some WW honcho thought it was a good visual direction for the corebook. The real shame was they obviously hadn't bothered to read the material before making the decision-- I'd never seen such gaping disparity between art and content in a game.

Old complaints aside, I'm mildly intrigued by this. I'd like to see Hunters occupy either end of the power spectrum, but please, not the middle ground. Disempowered schlubs who have only their wits to rely on are cool, as are righteous avenging angels who kick more arse than Blade. The halfway house is where it gets boring for me.

If they do go down the full-on supernatural route then I'd like to see a decent, cohesive mythology too. The messenger/ambassador stuff of the first game was an ideal example of what I don't like in a half-arsed setting-- too abstract to be useful, too binding to ignore.
