Title: (5e) two quick questions
Post by: Godfather Punk on August 26, 2015, 04:39:52 PM
The girlfriend has asked me to show her how this role-play thing  works ("No, we don't dress up like nurses or high school girls." "Aww,  pity!"). She feels she's not ready yet (confident enough) to join our  weekly game night (and frankly, I wouldn't force Warhammer 3e on  anybody, certainly not a newb) so I promised to arrange a short  one-on-one game during our vacation next month.

For a single  player scenario I would have preferred to GM some investigative scenario  like James Bond, X-Files or Cthulhu, or a short Star Wars D6 adventure.  But it looks like she wants the Fantasy experience. Ok, why not bite  the bullet and go for D&D 5th (I like 4E, but again, maybe not  something for a new player).

And when I asked her if she wanted a  Human, a Dwarf, an Elf and a Fighter, a Ranger, a Wizard... she said  "No, give me something exotic. We're playing Fantasy after all." which  got me thinking 'Genasi Sword Mage'.

So Question #1:  are there any  official or fan-made 5e rules for a Sword-Mage floating around the  internet? I'll need them before the Sword Coast supplement comes out.

Also the trouble is that most of the adventures I know are written for a D&D party of 4-5 FRCM.

Which  brings me to Q#2: Are there some short, good solo-player scenarios  available for 5e? Or for other systems, than can easily be converted? If  it's not too pricey I don't mind a Drivethrurpg link.
I have some  of the 3e conversions by Myriador for the Fighting Fantasy books  (Sorcery, WoFTM, Snow Witch); as these were originally solo FF  adventures it should be possible to re-skin those for 5e. But again,  these scenarios are rather mundane (and Sorcery lacks the  fourth module).

Maybe I might just write a gonzo, multi-verse  hopping heist or hunt scenario myself. If anyone has any original ideas  for that, feel free to share them here.

Thanks!
