This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Now that the three core books and a couple of campaign/modules have been released, does anyone know what will be next for 5e D&D?

Obviously we can speculate on the usual campaign settings, class expansion books, MMII, etc to infinity, but what do you actually know about?

Thanks.

Things I want right now: 1) More and tougher mid-level monsters, and 2) Psionics.

Beyond the DM screen in January, there's nothing else listed on the WotC site.

Not really broken.  ;)
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

I'd just like to see some more modules.  To me, modules are what can really make or break a game line.

Yes, yes, and more yes.

Am I the only one who read the original post? The question is (bolded, for your pleasure):

So let me answer the question: No, I do not know what officially will be produced next for 5e D&D.

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

The red dragon Thraxata the Flamefiend and her kobold minions confront a party of intrepid adventurers, who protect their ranger as she attempts to finish the fight by using a legendary arrow of dragon slaying meant specifically for this red wyrm. This durable, four-panel Deluxe Dungeon Master's Screen, lavishly adorned with illustrations inside and out, will enchant and inspire players and the Dungeon Master. Its landscape design allows the Dungeon Master to easily see beyond and reach over the screen, even as it keeps die rolls and notes hidden from players. Additionally, valuable background and story information provides greater depth and immersion. An accessory that expands the number of options available for character creation for the Elemental Evil story arc, providing expanded backgrounds, class builds, and races meant specifically for this campaign. Provides background and setting information critical to having the greatest chance of success."

Princes of the Apocalypse (March 17, 2015; Mar 6 in preferred stores; hardcover adventure; $49.95) -- "Abolish an Ancient Evil Threatening Devastation in this Adventure for the World's Greatest Roleplaying Game. Called by the Elder Elemental Eye to serve, four corrupt prophets have risen from the depths of anonymity to claim mighty weapons with direct links to the power of the elemental princes. Each of these prophets has assembled a cadre of cultists and creatures to serve them in the construction of four elemental temples of lethal design. It is up to adventurers from heroic factions such as the Emerald Enclave and the Order of the Gauntlet to discover where the true power of each prophet lay, and dismantle it before it comes boiling up to obliterate the Realms. A super-adventure for the Elemental Evil story arc, Princes of the Apocalypse provides everything a Dungeon Master needs to create an exciting and memorable play experience."

Are there any previews of the DM screen? Are they worth getting in general?
Battle doesn\'t need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don\'t ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don\'t ask why I fight.

RPGPundit

The elemental evil books sound very opportunistic, but they'll probably sell like hotcakes.  Better something like that adventurer's book than a "PHB II" with new universally mandatory feats, etc.

Omega

Looks like the start off of the announced Elemental Evil campaign? This from Kobold as well? I actually liked Hoard of the Dragon Queen.

From second party publishers we have had the spell cards for each caster class so far, a DM screen, and a minis game.

No. Sasquatch Studio. Though they are all ex-WotC like Kobold Press.

RunningLaser

I'm hoping that WoTC drops the hardcover adventure format.  There really isn't a need for it.
