I think there were some OD&D and AD&D modules of that ilk, anybody know a listing for those?

No experiences here, but I'd be interested, too... I'm going to run "Expedtion to Castle Ravenloft" for my girlfriend some time this year and running some adventures prior to that seems reasonable (getting to know the character's abilities, maybe getting to know some recurring NPCs and such) :)
