Long story short, some ex-Bioware devs butthurt over Mass Effect: Andromeda are making their own version. WotC spent money on making an original IP from scratch, when they own a bunch of scifi IPs they could've revived like Star Frontiers or Star*Drive.

Not sure WTF this game is even about Pigs? Sending Texts? Poetry? A Dating App (complete with "non-binary" dating choices). But the main thing is the the main character is called "The Traveller" which is the name of the main character in the mega-popular Genshin Impact. And the fact that they refer to their game as a "AAA game" which, from what I've seen, in considered an insult.

It's pretty clear from the trailer it's going to be Mass Effect Andromeda BUT THIS TIME YOU WILL LIKE IT BIGOT!

No Man's Sky is still a hollow, shallow shell of a game but it did exploration okay. Until you got bored of the same 5 planets in different colours over and over. I know Andromeda was an "attempt" to get back to the original vision of ME1 as a Star Control spiritual successor and I'd be absolutely fine with a fleshed out high budget Star Control 2 style game. But that will never happen.

Long story short this game will suck eggs.

If you are interested in a game with exploration, check out Stellar Tactics. Still in EA after years, but it's pretty good right now and even the bad reviews played it for 100s of hours.
