Just got one for my birthday and I have to say I'm really impressed. The hardware is nice, good controls, good multimedia functions, etc...

Plus the games, my god the GAMES.

Super Mario 3D world alone is worth the cost of entry, plus New Super Mario Bros, Wind Waker HD, Wonderful 101, Pikman 3, LEGO city undercover are all top notch.

Add to that the upcoming new Zelda game, Smash Bros, Donkey Kong Country, etc...

It's just really cool. I hadn't realized how tired I was of the endless spunkgargleweewee from Sony and Microsoft until I got a console with actual fun imaginative games.

I know it's been lagging in the console wars and while some of the criticisms were valid last year they've long since passed their expiration date. I hope they can gain some traction in the next year because they have a nice thing going on.

Anyone else have one?

I have a Wii U, XBOX360 & PS3 out of the three I have to say the one I have the most games for is my PS3 w/18 games then my Wii U with 8 games but I have only had it for about 3 months, and I have 1 physical and 6 downloaded XBOX360 games and it was my first system and its been over 3 years ago but lately I play my Wii U more than the PS3 or Xbox360, its just much cooler and I love the Batman Armored Edition & Arkham Origins and Assassins Creed 3 on it, just friggin awesome controls with the Wii U pad and controls.

Not too Impressed with what I have seen with the Xbox One yet, think that's a skip and I might buy into the PS4 when the price drops but not anytime soon, would rather get more Wii U games first.
Current Games I Am GMing:  HarnMaster (HarnWorld)
Games I am Playing In None.

You'll probably like Lego Marvel Super Heroes. Buy that. :)

Nintendo consoles are in a funny place. Previously, third-party publishers would release shitty shovelware titles, or half-assed late ports as a "test" of the console's userbase, and then throw a strop when they didn't sell, usually saying that it was Nintendo's fault for releasing quality titles which the userbase bought instead of their crap.

So this time around, Nintendo has given them a year, and they've released... Shitty shovelware, or late ports of games in series that everyone has already played elsewhere. EA are particularly upset, as Nintendo wouldn't let them run the system's online store and, of course, claim all of the profits.

I want to get a Wii U, even if only for the Mario games. I don't yet know that adorable girlfriend has bought me a Raspberry Pi, which will get turned into an emulator machine.

I thought the gamepad would be too gimmicky and cumbersome for me tastes, like the Wii Mote was when _every_ game decided to use it no matter how impractical. But I'm actually really impressed with it so far.

New Super Luigi U is pretty fun and one of the more challenging Mario games, despite having such a short length. The secrets are actually well-hidden, unlike New Super Mario Wii.

Wind Waker HD is really good so far, and I like the addition of the touchscreen features. The map is especially handy.

Dr. Luigi is pretty fun, though I wish they'd use more of the screen real-estate to zoom in a bit. I have a smaller TV and it's harder to keep track of some of the action.

The Wii U Virtual Console games also work well when played on the gamepad alone, and the Wii U eShop is more user-friendly than the Wii shop.

I probably should get Super Mario 3D after all I hear about it.
