I'm doing some applicant verification for a mortgage company now and it looks like I'll finally be able to upgrade to a PC with:
A. An onboard keyboard.
B. The memory to run fancy, new-fangled, games.
What's looking good in the way of FPS games or MMPOGs in the last year or two? And, perhaps more importantly, what looks good in new-ish laptops?
EvE online is both VERY pretty and very inintense on requirements (it runs great on my MacBook bootcamping windows). WoW, if it's you cup of tea, sis easy on the system reqs and very scale-able as well.
Halo was too intense for my laptop, I want to check out the immensely better coded Half-Life 2, but haven't gottne around to it.
Warcraft 3 runs great as a RTS.
Well, I'm hoping to drop a down payment on an Alienware laptop, provided we don't have anymore software bugs at work (said bugs are pruning my shifts back).
Just checked out HL2 and it runs AWESOME on my dual 800 Mghz laptop with onboard graphics processor.
Man, that game is SOOOOO GOOOD!
This would be a good choice: http://www.alienware.com/product_detail_pages/Aurora_m9700/aurora-m_specs.aspx?SysCode=PC-LT-AURORA-M-9700&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT#pdp-nav (http://www.alienware.com/product_detail_pages/Aurora_m9700/aurora-m_specs.aspx?SysCode=PC-LT-AURORA-M-9700&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT#pdp-nav)
Though you could do the same I do and build your custom rig, that will save you a lot of money that you could spend on a better rig.
But if you want a laptop, that's a whole different matter.
