Title: Robocop: Rogue City
Post by: Banjo Destructo on February 28, 2024, 12:27:15 PM
I just got this game last week, and I must say this is really fun. It will probably be a slow burn for me, I might only get to play once or twice a week for about 30-50 minutes, so far I've gotten past the tutorial first level, and I'm enjoying wandering around the little city area doing the side mission/police work while on my way to the main story stuff, and the sound effects are so satisfying for your main weapon, you can really feel the dirtbags getting whats what.

Though I also personally think the number of badguys in the levels so far is rediculous, sure part of the game is power fantasy of being an unstoppable robot cop, but you'd think the gangs have 100's or 1000's of people in them to keep throwing wave after wave after you.

Honestly one of my GOTYs of last year.
Such incredible attention to detail and to being lore-appropriate.

Also they somehow managed to make a slow as hell tank on legs fun to play as an FPS.

The only thing holding it back are the last few missions, IMO.
They are just way too easy.

Finished the first "mission" after the tutorial. Things are getting interesting.  I do think the levels work a little better without a "partner" following you around in the gun fights, so we'll see how long that goes for.   I wonder if you can rank higher than "A" in the missions though, I know some games include "S" rank, but that's usually a japanese game thing.
I like the skill upgrade system, and the gun upgrade system, I feel the craving to be able to maximize gains for the upgrades, but I wonder which ones will be better in the long run, I'm thinking slow motion is going to be good for gunning down the waves of creeps. But the fact that damage upgrades is a thing means there is probably something tougher to take down that it will actually make a difference, because so far the damage is good against humans.
