This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. The answer is the man wanted to kill his wife and decided to do it on his birthday. She took him out for dinner and when they pulled into the garage he stabbed her. Wrapping the body in a blanket he carried it through the kitchen into the living room and - surprise.  He grabed a gun out of the gunrack and shot himself.
