Title: Premise Riddle #4
Post by: Name Lips on April 28, 2006, 02:04:44 AM
:)

A man gets in an elevator in a tall office building. He pushes a button and travels to a specific floor about halfway up, then he gets out and takes the stairs up to his destination. The elevator does in fact reach the floor he was trying to get to.

Why does he do this, instead of just taking the elevator?

Does the elevator stop at the floor he needs to get to instead of merely "reach" it?

Is this a behaviour he repeats often (as opposed to a one-time event)?

Does his work task(s) require him to do this?

Hm. Stumped. Need new angle.

So he travels to the floor of his own choosing, correct? The decision to leave the elevator where he does was made when he entered the elevator or before?

Yes, he deliberately traveled to the floor where he got off.

That's not a yes or no question.

Is it because he's too short to reach the top buttons?

This is correct - the riddle is solved.

The man in question is a midget and can't reach the button that will take him to the floor he wants. :)
