I've been a watcher for years now. Guy's tutorials are good, and the content is fun.

A few days ago, they released their latest video, and it's on the topic of Nazis in Bolt Action.

I move on with my day, but other response videos started popping up.







So yes, this shit again.

And many have brought up the fact that the video itself contains a paid advertisement for... dramatic pause... World of Warships. The irony is not lost on the commenters.

My usual reaction in these situations is to show my support and buy the game. But OMG even a starter kit is $170! Did I go to sleep and wake up in a parallel universe? Pass.

Bolt action mini's look cool but the price of them makes me bring out the green army-men to play the game instead, quality rules though.

Speaking of wargames, I remember there being an alternate timeline wargame that involved Supersoldiers/Powersuits for the Axis/Allies but also had a Lovecraftian faction with zombie infantry along with a giant mercenary gorilla with a machine-gun; But I've forgot what it was called and can't find it anywhere online, it sound familiar to anyone?

There are, however, a few games with more limited model count that are much cheaper. 02 Hundred Hours is a recent game where one side are British commandos sneaking into Nazi bases to perform some sort of sabotage or rescue. The starter set is about $60 (without terrain). A cool selection of troops you don't often see in gaming form such as sentries and dog handlers.

Guy from Midwinter broke up with his "not-wife but mother of his child" last year, and his ex has insinuated that he's involved with his assistant. That same assistant was on a Women in Wargaming panel, where she espoused all the usual identity politics talking points, trying to scrape a victim narrative out of the generally welcoming and accepting wargaming community.



I'm loathe to even bring the personal stuff up, but I think it's relevant in that the Midwinter Minis channel has been pretty much ideology free up until now. And it was the assistant, Hattie, who was the impetus for the Bolt Action video.

Far, far too precious for this world.

Edit: 02 Hundred Hours looks cool as hell. Reminds me of another game from years back - Hour of Glory: Stronghold. Imma pick that up.

Yeah that's the one, thanks! Bummer to see it go right when I the chance to see it again though. Konflict 47 looks like a neat version of BA, Maybe it'll scratch the dust 1947 itch for me.

As an owner of a resin printer: Just be sure you have a way to vent away the gas. I spoke to some people that claim to have gotten asthma because they took resin fumes not-seriously.

Yeah, when I remember my own father who introduced me to historical wargaming, building model ships and tanks, and aircraft, such memories are precious to me. My father was a combat veteran that served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a bombardier and gunner. He probably killed *thousands* of Nazis and Japanese alike. Before World War II, he had served in the U.S. Navy, serving in China and the Pacific.

Then, I think of all my buddies growing up that played all of the classic historical war games with me. We routinely rotated playing the United States, Britain, Nazi Germany, Japan, and also the Soviet Union! Who didn't LOVE playing German Nazi Wehrmacht panzers or Soviet troops fighting desperately in Stalingrad? American, British, or German troops in North Africa? Or at Normandy? Or American or Japanese forces struggling in island battles or epic naval battles in the Pacific?

Then, I think of all my friends in the Marine Corps. We routinely played all kinds of war games, marching armies across tabletop battlefields and game boards. I guess they were all evil NAZIS, right?

I laugh, but geesus. These kinds of morons disgust me. There is no debate. These kinds of people are either totally evil and disgusting monsters--or mind boggling morons with the functional brain of a slug. Periodically, these kinds of jackasses pop up in our hobby. Instead of being polite and tolerant, and respecting these idiots, they need to be ruthlessly checked, HARD. And then kicked out of our hobby mercilessly. They need to be laughed at and mocked, and despised with vigor.

If I had a girlfriend that even hinted at any of this kind of garbage BS, I would drop-kick her to the curb in a blink. Then I would seriously do some soul-searching about my "Dating Radar" and wonder how the hell I could ever get romantically involved with such a slug!

Well, then again, when I had first met my wife, before I got married, I asked her what she thought about American troops fighting in the Vietnam War. I simply told her, straight faced, you'd best think very carefully about your answer. She was a true patriot. At the time, had she given me some squishy, stupid Leftist REEEing kind of response, she would have been drop-kicked hard. That is what you get though when you come onto a United States Marine base, and hang out with Marine Infantry warriors.

It just boggles me why so many men even tolerate idiots lie this Hattie chick. I don't care if they are men or women though. The very suggestion, the entire mental attitude that questions the motives of other gamers involved with historical war-games, it makes me immediately question whether such people have jello for brains, I can't imagine ever looking at such a person the same way again, you know? I remember attending a game convention when I was in the Marine Corps. The game convention was awesome! Besides playing D&D, I set aside an entire day or two to play historical war-games like Third Reich. This giant map of Europe and Russia, and part of North Africa and the Middle East. Either side, if just two, or the Soviet Union as a third player, you built armies and controlled economies to fight a gigantic "What If" Grand Strategy war-game of Word War II. When moving about, I met this older man in the historical miniature war game area. Huge tabletop set up of entire French towns and forests during Normandy. Fortifications, forests, special hanging lights everywhere, besides beautifully painted miniature troops, vehicles, artillery, and tanks. The entire set-up was a real sight, and he was obviously a skilled and meticulous crafter, besides being a gamer. 

This man was a black American, and a veteran of 25 years as a Master Sergeant in the United Sates Army. He was also dressed up, "Cosplaying" as a Nazi Waffen SS Officer. A Sturmbanfuhrer, I think. Boots, black uniform, the armband, a cocky officer's cap, he even had a *monocle*!! The belt, and a model holster an sidearm, Luger, of course. He looked fucking AWESOME. People were getting pictures taken with him. He was also a life-long historical war-gamer. The battle he and some friends played that day was EPIC! His friends were all veterans, too. He was awesome and so cool, too, explaining how the game was played, the rules, discussing history with people. Encouraging people around him to learn about war-gaming and history. A true gentleman, and an awesome person. Looking at him, fucking pussies like in the posted lead video would have a fucking stroke and fall out REEing hysterically. Fucking morons.

I guess for them, the US Army veteran and patriot, Cosplaying as a Nazi Waffen SS officer, must be an actual, terrible REAL NAZI, right?

Pathetic woke moron pussies like these people don't belong in our hobby. They need to be gatekept out, and kicked out, from our hobby, ruthlessly. They are too stupid, literally, to play historical war-games. Their pathetic attitudes also show that they are also very likely to be a serious danger to themselves and others.
