So I got my hands on a copy they other day. It won't be released for a couple weeks, and while I didn't get a chance to play it, I got to dig through the box and all the goodies inside.
My opinion? It looks really, really nice. It's set at a price point of $50, and that is very cheap for what appears to be an extremely well made game with a lot of stuff in it. And everyone I talked to who has played it has said it might be a shoe in for the best game of 2012.
It is a boardgame, but it's not a D&D boardgame like most of the others. Rather, it seems to be a resource management game with the lore and history of Waterdeep tied in. I really can't wait to actually play a session.
Ok, I'm a tool. I meant "Lords of Waterdeep", not "Lords of Neverwinter".
Wait. Neverwinter or Waterdeep?
Cause the idea of dudes fighting over Waterdeep is pretty cool.
ETA: I see. Waterdeep is a much cooler choice, I think, what with Undermountain and all.
Changed the thread title for you dude. It's alright.
Is it like the D&D games with a bunch of plastic minis and stuff?

Thank you.
and Kaz, it's not like the other D&D boardgames where you have minis. You play the role of one of the Lords, and it seems to me to be more of a resource management game. I haven't had time to read all the rules thoroughly, but let's just say that it was a very high quality put together game. The rulebook, after a brief skim, seems very easy to read. The game box is very well put together too. I was impressed. The only criticism I had was that the cards seemed to have a weave like texture to them, which made them screwy to look at when the light reflected off of them.

Colour me interested.
