This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Hay Guyz? Have you heard about this great new game?

Won't someone think of the children?

EDIT: I'm tired of this shit, though. Everytime something new comes up, it's all, "Oh shit! It must be bad!" Even if there was something to it by now, it's gonna be hard to convince me. I like all this new shit, so sue me.

But leave it to these laggy-ass new stations that think this bullshit is breaking news. First on the scoop? Heheheh.
God in the Machine.

Here's my website. It's defunct, but there's gaming stuff on it. Much of it's missing. Sorry.

I've got a blog. Do you read other people's blogs? I dunno. You can say hi if you want, though, I don't mind company. It's not all gaming, though; you run the risk of running into my RL shit.

Talk about being behind the curve...sheesh...

A few comments:

QuoteDallas' mom, Deborah Nichols, said her son's obsession with Warcraft has hurt his grades and the family's dynamic.

"He didn't want to leave," she said. "He didn't want to leave to eat. He didn't want to leave to be with us.

Uh...Who's the parent here? I'm having a hard time figuring it out....

QuoteIn response, a new informal movement has sprung up that is sometimes referred to as "Leave No Child Inside." It's an effort to connect kids with the benefits of getting outside.

While I have nothing against going outside and I do enjoy many outdoor activities, why is "going outside" the solution that always seems bandied about in these situations?

Quote"We know that being out in nature reduces stress tremendously among kids and among adults," said Richard Louv, an author who wrote "Last Child in the Wilderness."

Ok, well that makes sense...maybe instead of playing WoW for 12 or 17 straight hours I should sit/walk/run/skip/frolic outside for 17 hours, with the effect that outside/nature has on my stress level, maybe I should spend all 24 hours in a day outside...my stress level would be in the negative!

Whatever.  Balance is the key.  If you're a parent, remember that you're the parent.

It's so that in 5-10 years they can have the "Leave No Child Offline" campaign.

There will be a big scare about the increased rate of skin related illness amongst kids because, well, they are spending 17 hours outside.

It will be all about "Introduce your kids to books and the Internet as a way to spend time inside while still finding enjoyment!"

The sad thing is, I'm serious.

The even sadderer thing is, I believe that you speak the truth.
