This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Splurged for the new year and bought it from Amazon. The booster packs are in my cart, but I'm reluctant to pull the trigger. I'm really looking for a Star Wars game I can play with my wife and kids (10 + 13). Is this a pickup and play kind of family game or what? Thoughts? Experiences?

Piestrio

If you ever played "Wings of War" it's like that.

I found it to be pretty quick and easy in play, I dont think your kids should have any issue with it.

It's a fun little game.

Brasidas

It's a great soda & pretzels game, and I've got two friends who bought it to play with their kids (my kid is only two, so he'll have to wait awhile).  :)

Hackmaster

Played two games of this last night and it was a blast. I'm not into miniatures games and definitely don't want to spend a lot of money on putting together a small army or collection, but damn, it sure was fun.

It's very rules light and is great for a pick up and play game.
