It's a slang referring to IHC - Greek spelling of first letters from his name. Most commonly attributed meaning is Jesus Christ Saviour, as it can be also written IHS

Oh, okay.  I'm familiar with the IHC/IHS abbreviation based on the Greek.  Never connected that with the "Jesus H. Christ" thing, though.  (Probably because I think of the abbreviation as being iota-eta-sigma, so I don't really think of the eta as an English H.)  I get it now, though.
