Title: D&D Video Game Question
Post by: Gabriel2 on April 19, 2008, 02:49:22 PM
A long time ago, I remember seeing a preview for a Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms game in the style of a beat 'em up.  It was a 3D game, and I think it was for either the PS2 or Xbox.  Then I promptly forgot the name despite being interested in it.

The only things I remember about the screenshots were some white haired elf chick and the baddies being Yuan Ti.

Does anyone have any idea what the title of this one was?  Was it worth a damn, or just typical shovelware garbage?

Probably Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone.  It's an action style rpg.  You play a mage, a warrior, and a Drow thief.  It's not bad, not deep, but if you like plowing through levels killing the hordes of baddies it's fun.

It had some lovely graphics and great voice talent (Patrick Stewart as Khelbun Arunsun!) but was possibly the shortest, most linear game of it's type I ever played. Despite the lovely presentation, the lack of deviation from the prescribed path made it deadly dull. I see it as one of the great wasted opportunities.

Yeah.  I think that's it.  The XBox site says it's backwards compatible, so when I get my 360 back from the service center I'll check it out if I can find it for cheap.  I know I've seen it in a used game store somewhere around here.

Let us know what you think of it. I'd be interested to read someone elses take on the game.
