Title: Battle for Middle Earth
Post by: Werekoala on April 05, 2007, 10:37:05 AM
so, wandering around Target the other day, I notice a "RTS" game on the shelf, $9.99 - Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth. Its been out a couple of years (and in fact was right next to its sequel Battle.. II). I figure hey, 10 bucks and its new to me, so why not? I need something new to entertain me.

Get it home, patch it, start playing.

4 hours later I'm getting my ass kicked at Helm's Deep and having a blast. This game sucked me in like no other has for a good long while. It dosn't have the same old RTS "feel" of other games like Warcraft and Starcraft and whatnot - really felt almost like an adventure game in alot of ways, I think helped along by the fact that the "heroes" from the books/movies were playable and had kewl pow3rz and such.

Anyone else played this in the past? If not, put it on your "to-do" list. Its still only $10 so how wrong can ya go?

Also, anyone played the sequel? Aside from graphics upgrades, how is it different than the first one? Surely you don't fight the exact same battles over again?
