SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

"The first thing you notice with Hexographer is just how full featured the free product is... The second thing you notice is just how simple it is to create large maps quickly." --RupertG, Dice of Doom: Using Hexographer to create overland hex maps | Dice of Doom

"You can use the program to generate maps that are reminiscent of the old D&D 'gazetteer' series of modules, but that's not all.  You can also generate maps of cities and even star maps for sci-fi games... I have successfully used it myself on both PC and Mac machines." --Anthony Roberson, Dungeon Mastering 101: Dungeon Mastering 101: Hexographer is Cool

"This program does everything I need an overland, hex-based mapping program to do. It allows me to produce high-quality, visually appealing maps with a minimum of effort and a very small learning curve... There is a forum for the program, and the support from [the developer] is outstanding." --Bob, Back to the Keep Back to the Keep: Hexographer review

"Within an hour, I'd cranked out three different maps as rough playtest maps for a manuscript I'm working on. They were all labeled and detailed, even slightly isometric in one instance... Hexographer is a great, quickly acquired and configured, utility-rich cartography tool with an intuitive, beginner-friendly interface, and a very accessible price-point." --Ben McFarland, Kobold Quarterly Hexographer Software Review « Kobold Quarterly Magazine: Monsters and Magic for D&D Gamers
