Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Better Mousetrap Games and Flying Mice Games are pleased to announce the release of Outremer. Outremer is also available in print.

Outremer - A dream of what could have been. Outremer is an alt-historical game, set in a world where the crusader states have lasted into the 16th century. This game can be played with or without magic as desired. If you want magic, there are nine Paths of Power, flying carpets, Djinn, Kabbalah, Sufi mystics, Half-angels, and the power of the archangels. Along with 3 major religions with various sects, political games, espionage, and war, it's a terrific setting for gaming.

The 11 nations of Outremer - Acre, Aleppo, Antioch, Aqaba, Armenia, Ascalon, cyprus, Damascus,  Edessa, Homs, jerusalem, Rhodes, and Tripoli - have managed to survive into the mid 16th century by balancing opposition, trade, and banding together when needed. After 500 years, they have evolved a modus vivendi which allows - if not peace, then a tradition of getting along without cutting their own throats.

Creating your Association first allows you to make your characters with already existing ties, resources, and support, and if the players make the Association, it allows the GM to see what you all are interested in.

Excellent news Clash!

Shakespeare in Jerusalem, Kingdom of Heaven meets Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Solomon Kane sails with Sinbad is how I pitch it to folks. With more than a nod to Ray Harryhausen.

Or Neil Gaiman's 1602 in the Middle East. ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_1602

For the campaign I'm helping out with*, the pc's are part of a secret society against Eveel and currently have a half-angel, more or less Soloman Kane, a Jewish spy, a wandering Asiatic, and a Frank Father who's more than he seems. Oh and a mysterious half-djinn. They pack a spiritual punch against the dark powers!

I hope to gen up an English descent bastard, a charming Italian dwarf in search of new audiences, and a German sellsword this weekend. Need a power user or 2 as well, including the Tom Baker-esque vizar type who botched a summoning and wound up with said mysterious half-djinn before sneaking away.

I really like the organization aspect of the game, as it gives the party a solid reason to gather and resources/horde of redshirts to aid the party and to be managed.

p.s. this also meshes well with the earlier On Her Majesty's Arcane Service, especially if the English (or their princedoms in the East) or cloak and dagger stuff features in your campaign.

* Beta playtester, now turning into a regular campaign
