SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The Hexanomicon is an in-game setting creator. Random tables are used to determine the contents of hexes as you play. Stickers make filling in the hex map easy and fun. Actual locations are determined by the judge and players. This tool creates the spaces in between.

Most landscape is only a matter of time but some are important parts of the story. The party may need to face The Wastes of Dag'Ballah to reach the wizard's tower. Evil landscapes are inhabited by strange beasts that the players have never seen before. Random tables determine the names of these chaotic hexes. Generating names such as The Blighted Crags or The Womb of Sadness. Other tables create the denizens. Below is a simple monster created by the Beast-O-Matic. Your players will not face generic owlbears in these lands.

DC 18 to remove 4. Attached monkeys attack with +d1. Grappled opponents are targeted by other monkeys but not with missile attacks. A monkey has a 1/4 chance to have a rock if it has not melee attacked. All monkeys have an unlimited supply of scat but it does no damage. Fire damage causes a morale check. Melee attacks are poisonous. DC 13 Fort, -1 Strength on success, -2d3 Strength on failure. Halflings are immune.

The Hexanomicon was created for the Dungeon Crawl Classics role playing game system but the tools are either system neutral or easily adaptable to common game systems.

The project's creator is a design teacher at Parsons and the creator of a line of educational electronics kits. He began RPGs with The Basic Set.
