Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). Medieval Brewery is an interior map of brewery and attached brewpub to try out the creations with an exterior plains and more traveled dirt paths. Useful in fantasy games (as a more interesting tavern) and medieval period games (more later medieval though as early breweries were monasteries and abbeys). Another possibility I hadn't thought of till today was a steampunk brewery. All the copper vats in here could be copper boilers or copper vats powered by steam that speed up the brewing process.

Well, more like 18th Century than Medieval.  But still fun.

(In the middle ages, other than monasteries most ale was brewed by women... "alewives."  And the huge coppers et al were centuries away.)

As long as the map is fun, we are happy.

Historically, would need to be an abbey, monastery, etc. to be early-mid medieval, this is a bit more late-medieval, pre-industrial, with copper vats using gravity to help the process out. On the plus side, means it could be used in some steampunk games and one person on g+ said it fits a post-apocalyptic game they want to run. So its good mix of genres and scope on this map, which is good because we'd like you to be use the map as many times as possible to get the most out of your purchase.

Alewives eh? Okay, I will keep that in mind.

Gronan of Simmerya

Heh.  One could always stretch things a bit... in a 15th century fantasy medieval town, some bloke shows up with this "new brewery" idea to produce ale by the barrels instead of a few gallons at a time.

What do the alewives of the town do about it?

And what does Nanny Ogg think of these goings on?  Heh heh heh...

Yeah some adventure ideas there. The player characters could be hired by the alewives to do a bit of arson on the new brewery to preserve their way of life, but maybe Godric gives them an offer they can't refuse to instead expose the alewives plotting against him. Something like free booze for a year once his brewery releases its first batch for example. Or Godric offers them some potions instead or as additional sweetener on the deal.

I like the way you think!

But don't think the alewives are idle in all this.  After all, tea leaves aren't the only thing you can do scrying in.

(I'm one of these people that will say "Okay, it's not really a medieval brewery, but having said that who gives a shit if it gives us a fun game?"  I love history but have tried to cure myself of pedantry.)

Poisoned tea can be a powerful weapon.

Historical accuracy is a thing that has come up before, like with Simon's awesome Roman Fort. Its not 100% historically accurate to Roman Forts of the era, but its a huge Roman Fort with ballistae, wooden ramps and walls, wooden guard towers, tents, etc. Map is like 5 x 5 feet printed out, so its a massive value for the money, and great for games set in the era like Weird Wars Rome as one example or in a fantasy game. Medieval Brewery is definitely a similar map, a great little map that isn't as historically accurate, but a lot of possibilities. For roleplaying games it tends to be close enough to get by.

Wargamers tend to be a bit more concerned with the historical accuracy though.

Last day for 50% off ale with the coupon!
