SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Sky Relics Games

Hi everyone! Sky Relics has often considered getting a game review for the Kickstarter launch, but we realized that we should let the players decide for themselves. So, when we our campaign launches, you will be able to download Sky Relics: Battle of Iron Ring Skies as a printable game. There won't be any backing necessary. The rules will be available for download along with paper print outs of the game board, cards, cloud terrain, and just enough SkyShip miniatures to play a few skirmishes (the minis will print out as single hexagons). All of these will be in PDF format, so your average computer will be able to see this.

Bottom line is that we are very aware of our current position. We are an aspiring start up. We are a brand new company looking to make Sky Relics a staple in the gaming community. With no recorded track history, we understand a gamer's hesitance to back us especially when more and more Kickstarter projects are failing to deliver. That is why we are showcasing our game to all. We don't want you to back the game with your hard-earned money to find out that it's not up your alley. We want you to try the game, and be like "Wow. I can get behind this. I need to get the real game and some of their minis!"

If you have been keeping up with our posts, then you will know that we pride ourselves in our transparency. We want you guys to know that we have nothing to hide. We are hungry artists looking to makes something long lasting, something beautiful, something beyond ourselves which is why at the end of every post, we ask what do you think?

When printing out the game, we recommend that you use card stock paper for quality's sake. Any paper will do, but card stock should reduce wrinkling as the ship hexagons and cloud terrain jostle around. At the moment we are looking to launch our campaign July 21st. There has been some developing delays which we are okay with because we want to launch with a complete game. In the meantime we'll showcase all the pledge levels as we draw nearer to the big date!

You should probably get more feedback before the KS launch. Especially useful if you want bloggers to chat about game as it launches.

Color me intrigued. I am skeptical about some elements you've discussed so far, but I would absolutely look at the download.

How much playtesting have you kids done?

We test our game everyday, but now we are currently working with two beta testing groups. Because of this, the rules are being adjusted, so the link to the print and play is not ready yet. We will definitely post an update as soon as it is.
