Our own Dungeondelver does a regular livestream talking about old school gaming, it may interest some people. Today he had me as a guest, you guys can put a face to the nonsense posted here. It's on FB, but we use the tools we have. See here (https://www.facebook.com/685976958/videos/10161697137041959/).
This week's episode: the dice are always right! (https://www.facebook.com/bill.silvey.7/videos/10161711905006959/)
And this week, henchmen and hirelings (https://www.facebook.com/bill.silvey.7/videos/10161736560601959). If you don't have them, you're doing it wrong!
Wastrel Wednesdays
Tomorrow, Bill and I will go live at 10am Australian EST and demonstrate that The Dice Are Always Right. We'll be rolling up and detailing a small adventuring setting designed for 1st level characters on up - entirely randomly, using the charts in the DMG.
Get your snacks ready to watch and get your nerd on!
The article summarising what we discussed in this week's livestream, about the right and proper way to create a game world, Hex On Up (https://vikinghatgm.blogspot.com/2020/12/hex-on-up.html).
This week we were supposed to talk about Classic Traveller, instead we got political, and talked about D&D's supposed anti-semitism. Not coincidentally, about solving out-of-game player problems in-game.
Watch and learn (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qYNDFos1lI)!
Next week, the wonder that is Classic Traveller.
In which we playtest
Conflict a bit, Bill rolls up Lieutenant Walters, who is discharged from his service and while waiting for a bus gets into a brawl at the diner.
It was a bit slow because I was explaining things for the benefit of the audience.
I've already found a couple of things I'd like to change. The next stage is alpha testers - playing with me refereeing or playing - and after that, beta testers - playing without my being involved.
We'll be putting a call out for alpha testers soon.
Conflict alpha test continues!
Chapter 2, in which Lt Walters foils a robbery on the mean streets of New York.
Like all gamers, we talk shit for half an hour before starting.
Mail call day - I covered some recent book purchases, and we talked making play accessible, which of course means making play old school.
