This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Dear The RPG Site Forums;

We're World of Darkness: Gotham and we're seeking players and Storytellers in an engaging crossover-orientated game. You will choose from one of four venues - Vampire: the Masquerade, Werewolf: the Apocalypse, Mage: the Ascension, or Mortal. This is a world where nothing is free and everything must be fought for or stolen but can be claimed the same way from you.

We offer:
An active community;
Active Storytellers;
Levels of involvement: from part-timers all the way to hardcore players;

We seek:
Compelling and rich characters;
Players who want challenging and serious stories;
Storytellers capable of leading intense and engaging stories;
Particularly Werewolf and Mage Storytellers at the moment

We are a strict game with high standards which only furthers the number of rich and compelling characters found within. As said before, there is nothing free in this world and the price of failure is very steep indeed.

This reminds me of the old WW website RP chats. Ah, the memories.

I had a blast playing a mortal there back in the day.

Come on down! No need to subsist off memories when you can make new ones! And live great experiences!

And only some us bite!

This site is easily the best quality, best put together game I've participated in twelve years of internet rpg gaming.

I've had a character there for over nine months now, and still try to log on every night.  The character sanctioning process is rigorous, but ensures that you're only going to be dealing with people that put some level of effort into their character concept and some level of commitment into the site.  As a result, you don't see a lot of the cliche lameness or multiple identical character concepts that drag down some games.

PvP predation so far has been fun and rewarding without a huge body count, and the environment (some of which you can see in the wiki link posted above) is incredibly well developed.  You really come to think of your faction's turf as your own; I can't stress the awesome tension of finding some unknown player lurking near one of your faction's strongholds.

We need players and storytellers!  So whatever you do well, this is a great place to do it.

At World of Darkness: Gotham, we're happy to inform everyone about something brand new in our coding department!

We have recently added a brand new system which awards Willpower, Blood Pool, Rage, and Quintessence every week based on defined parameters! Less worry for the player! In addition, for Vampire characters, we have a Hunting system which allows for greater ease to refill Blood when base amount each week doesn't satisfy!

There has also been an increase in the player base! There is no better time than now to join us and roleplay with your fellow WoDians! Scheme! Lie! Cheat! Steal! And murder your way to success in the World of Darkness! And there isn't a Chronicle out there as willing to allow hardcore PvP than us! With strict character creation and no-nonsense Stortellers, every character you meet is just as fleshed out and ready to rock it as you are!

Interested? Well, the link again is //www.wodgotham.com.

Come on down! It's worth it!

I've been playing at Gotham for over a year now and it is a really unique and well structured game. I'm still interested by and engaged with the game.

The characters are rich and diverse and make for an interesting RP environment. As mentioned previously, the character creation process is rigorous and thorough -- it leads to well developed characters that are thought through.

The game is for mature players. There is no OOC drama and there are no IC 'cliques'. Players are happy to engage in open play as well as venue specific play.

The staff is really great. The STs make sure the game runs smoothly and provide interesting SLs and hooks to keep you going. They are demanding and challenge players/characers, but in my opinion ... that is a good thing - it prevents stagnation.

If you really enjoy playing in a well run, well resourced game -- Gotham is worth a look.

Midgard

I been playing on WoDGotham since they open and I love the place, its a mature site with a well worked through setting, it uses inovative tools to make the character creation and progress easy to handle compared to many other sites I seen in my 10+ years of playing online.

Though what I like the most is that their policy on character secrecy, you dont reveal what your character is OOC that means you could be playing with vampires, werewolves mages or humans in the same scene and none would be the wiser, it allows for interesting crossover and interactions that otherwise would be hampered or even avoided in segregated/icon showing chats.

Another thing I personally like is that every action you make have concequences. Bad happenings, botches and IC misstakes are not just glossed over, your character has to suffer the concequences of his actions. The game can be lethal... or worse you can end up bloodbonded, forced to take a spirit quest or heavily censored by your elders.

Wodgotham is a mature and serious game but has a friendly OOC enviroment.

Come play with us :)

I've only been playing on wodgotham for a few months and I have to say I'm kinda blown away from the differences between this site and other's I've played on. The level of maturity is a breath of fresh air from other 'modded' sites that are rife with meta-gaming. Keep up the good work guys, and come play with us! I promise you won't regret it!

The Onyx Path has revived interest in the Classic World of Darkness setting with their 20th Anniversary releases. New fans as well as seasoned veterans of the classic setting have a lot to look forward to as RPG classics like Vampire: the Masquerade, Werewolf: the Apocalypse, and Mage: the Ascension are updated for the next generation of role players. If you bought the 20th Anniversary releases and have been searching for an online Classic World of Darkness Chronicle which makes use of the rules set, then welcome to World of Darkness: Gotham.

With the 20th Anniversary of the Classic World of Darkness setting upon us and the successful release of both Vampire 20th and Werewolf 20th as well as the impending arrival of Mage 20th, the Team has decided to migrate to the 20th Anniversary rules set! We will be undergoing heavy changes to our rules sets to include many of the changes presented by the 20th Anniversary of Classic World of Darkness which we feel will improve the game experience for everyone. It's pretty exciting stuff.

The team will use the opportunity during the migration to update databases. Therefore, inactive, incomplete, and unsanctioned characters will not be migrated in accordance with our inactivity policy. To avoid character deletion, simply inform a team member that you're still active and seeking to role play and your character will be migrated with the rest. If you are unable to play and wish to back-up your character for your own records, then log in before the migration is complete with the update to the 20th Anniversary.

With such new and thrilling updates coming to WODG, a team of dedicated and talented Storytellers who understand the themes of our Chronicle is essential to crafting and running intricate storylines which challenge our players. If you believe in the themes we have presented for each venue as well as have the drive and dedication to deliver powerful and emotive storylines, then fill out a Storyteller Application and start in. The core themes of Vampire: the Masquerade and Werewolf: the Apocalypse are preserved and exemplified in WoDG and our Mortal venue has plenty of unique challenges and hurdles for any player or Storyteller.

We're excited about these changes and updates and we look forward to another year of riveting role play as we move towards the end of the year and the beginning of the next.

Jinxed_Oracle

We're in our third year at World of Darkness: Gotham and we've decided to make some changes. Proposals have been removed for Vampire, Werewolf, and Mortal characters and we've further increased the creative interaction between players and Storytellers to allow for an even richer experience. Crossover is still our main goal and Alliances allow a player to have clandestine affairs with fellow players, sometimes at risk of alienating their peers.

With the changes in effect, it's a perfect time for new cWoD players to come check out WoDG. If you're interested in a challenging game with a friendly environment and a relaxed atmosphere for prospective STs, then we're the game for you.
