This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Hey everyone, as promised our interview with R.A. Savatore has been released on an off week.  Many thanks for Mr. Salvatore for the opportunity!

I hope you all enjoy this interview as much as we did.

Is it just the interview or did you also do "game of the week" etc.? Also, I was wondering how much of the interview is about actual gaming? Not so interested in hearing about Salvatore's activity as a writer.

We actually didn't do favorite games for this episode, since we had to rush it out.  We also skipped "currently playing," but we wanted to get this one out so we could do a full episode on time next week.

We only spend about 10 minutes talking about his books, the rest of it is about his experiences as a GM and a gamer.

Cool, I'll still give it a listen then, even though I had no idea who R.A. Salvatore is before looking it up on Wikipedia after you anounced the interview.

In http://2gms1mic.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/2gms1mic-s01e15.mp3">Episode Fifteen we are talking about how to satisfactorily end a campaign.  We tend to run short campaigns, with a smallish scope (although we have saved the world a few times), that end when appropriate.  There is nothing more satisfying than a great game, and nothing better than bringing a beloved campaign to a satisfactory end.

So..let's END IT!

A little behind on these. Listening to 14 now. Your interview with RA Salvatore is awesome. Makes me want to re-read the Icewindale books. Didn't realize he is a Boston guy.

You somehow managed to make the interviews interesting and fun, inspite of the fact I am not particularly interested in any of the products the people interviewed have put out and don't count most of the games they talked about among my favourites (and had no idea who R.A. Salvatore was ;)). Chapeau for that! :hatsoff:

Just listened to episode 15. I enjoyed it as usual. The conversation concerning the main topic did feel a tad bit long this time. Perhaps it could have been split into two or maybe three easily digestable chunks with musical intermezzos inbetween. Then again, it could be just me.

All that talk about ninjas while discussing Wu Xing made me think of this game called Ninja Burger. No idea if it's good, but it looks like it could be fun.

Thanks for the shout-out, by the way. I'm hardly the only person posting in this thread though.

I know you're not the only one, but I'd talked to you that day.

I've never played the ninja burger RPG, but the card game by SJGames is fantastic!

The interview with salvatore was ver, very good. I knew about the lord of the rings gift set but never knew the blizzard of 78 was what prompted him to read it. What i liked most about the interview is you really went with the gaming angle and i got to learn about his gaming experiences. Reading his books i had always wondered about this.

I was surprised at how someone like Salvatore who writes very mainstream games and fiction is so completly crazy round his gaming table!
