SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Interesting.

I think I should rename the History Farce series the lazy bugger of a GM series!

I get the impression that's why I made a lot of the system decisions I did.

I feel the same way most of the time.  I steal wholeheartedly from history for my plots...I mean, why not?  My players don't really know the difference, since the only other historian in the group studies eastern history.

This episode's topic is "The Physicality of gaming: Where you Game"

Welcome back to the newest episode of 2 Gms, 1 Mic. We're starting to gear up for GenCon, and while going to conventions is fun, it's important to think about where we game while not on vacation. In fact, having a comfortble place to game in probably contributes a lot to a satisfying campaign.

Number Eight: Actuate!

This episode's topic is "Keeping Secrets and Meta-Gaming"

The role of GMing necessitates a little secrecy. Secrecy is sometimes an important aspect of playing roleplaying games. Since it's a topic near and dear to the hearts of all gamers, and rather improtant to many groups, we decided to answer the question of our listener Nick. Our group is not very secretive, and we hope Nick's question has a good answer from us and given our loyal listeners something to think about!

We want to hear all your secretses! Rather, how do you handled secrecy or metagaming? Tell us anything you want on Facebook, Twitter, or via email!

Hey everybody, it's another episode!  This one's about the accoutrements of GMing: the sorts of things every GM should have at their table.  Not all groups or Gms require the same stuff, of course, but we tried to illustrate the sorts of thing that are always on our table!  From screens to chips to pencils, we highlight a bunch of the random stuff that makes your life easier as a GM or player in our fantstic hobby.

Quote from: BedrockBrendan;471995Have you guys done an episode on play styles and GMing styles?

For play styles, we discussed player types back in episode six.  Suggestion noted, however, and we will put those topics both on rotation!
