SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What is your profession?

Yeah, I am one of those people who do not fit easily into one profession definition but feel free to vote what you self identify as.

Thanks,

I will count that as either none of the above or humanities. ;)

It's weird, you put IT in sciences, I have a BofS in CS, but i've always considered myself an software engineer...hmph....

Danger

Technically, I work for engineers (the civil type - haha, I'm so witty); somebody's gotta draft up what they scratch out, right?  And if I'm lucky, I get to go out in the woods with a survey crew and chop up some Mother Nature from time to time.
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

Callous

I voted none of the above but I work in a field that is Science-ish.  I have a BS in Chemical Engineering.  Hmm...  I guess I needed a "vote for as many as apply" poll...   :)

Mcrow

I have a degree in medical technology and biomed, so I guess I fit into science.

The Good Assyrian

I teach History at university, so I am firmly in the Humanities camp.

In my time I have had a lot of different titles and half my degrees are in business or humanities but I self Identify as a scientist/IT. Heaven forbid I ever am considered an accountant. Ahhhh!

So, in short, if you feel you are an engineer, feel free to pick engineer. I just gave the examples to show folks what I thought lumped into those categories.

My work is in IT administration, so I responded as "science", but it's more like "Technical", which isn't an option, or at most "Engineering".

Thanatos02

I have a Humanities degree, but work in a field that's either considered secretarial or customer service, as I work at a call center/doctors exchange operator.
God in the Machine.

Here's my website. It's defunct, but there's gaming stuff on it. Much of it's missing. Sorry.

I've got a blog. Do you read other people's blogs? I dunno. You can say hi if you want, though, I don't mind company. It's not all gaming, though; you run the risk of running into my RL shit.

That's exactly what I was thinking, too, though I'm actually a scientist (well, I'm a consultant, but I practice science whenever possible).

I put down Science, because I think that's where software developers were supposed to go.  Though I'm a little confused by the Science/Engineering split.
Now Prepping: One-shot adventures for Coriolis, RuneQuest (classic), Numenera, 7th Sea 2nd edition, and Adventures in Middle-Earth.

Recently Ended: Palladium Fantasy - Warlords of the Wastelands: A fantasy campaign beginning in the Baalgor Wastelands, where characters emerge from the oppressive kingdom of the giants. Read about it here.

Well scientists do science, while engineers use science. :D

My job is Smiting.

No poll entry for that.

My OTHER job is logistics.

Where oh where is the entry for Logistics? How are the engineers getting their raw materials? Where did the scientists get the stock for their labs? Where did the...

... okay, okay... I'm done now.. put that narcojet down, omae...
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.
