I accidentally discovered some images from an artbook about this anime series and thought it looked cool enough to learn more.  Then I found out it was a post-post-apocalyptic story about the Vatican nation against a country of Vampires.  That sounded neat, so I ordered the first DVD of the series.

The series so far doesn't really live up to the post-apoc stuff.  That's just an excuse to use our world with a sort of 19th century tech level mixed in with airships and superscience.  But the series has direct applications to gaming.  Players could easily be Vatican battle-priest/operatives (human, android, or even Vampire) assigned to protect the interests of humankind in the world.

Just wondering if anyone had seen the anime, and maybe if anyone else had thought of the RPG application.

Interesting. On one of the numeroues threads about plot ideas on tBP I posted that I wanted to do a Vamp game set in the future based on the Red Planet called Growing Up Undead On Mars...someone else had a much cooler title, Things To Do On Mars When You Are Dead.

Late one night I caught Trinity Blood on TV. Gave me a couple of ideas. Some of the concepts of the show are pretty ineresting - characters, tech etc - what I'm thinking of doing, is having the pcs play Vamp Hunters but instead of Christianity, I'm using Islam as the dogma of the times. The Vamp Hunters are modelled after the emo police of Equilibrium.

I'm considering using Feng Shui but really WW is also a possibility...

I've been following it on Adult Swim.  It's interesting enough to keep watching, but moves rather slowly and the main character is a bit too stereotypical (mild-mannered doofus whose really a supreme badass.)

I'm still preferring 'Bleach' so far.

As for the main character, yes, he's cliche.  However, in anime the badass usually either always acts like ultimate badass or behaves like a goof because he doesn't know he's a badass.  So, while its a big stereotype, it comes across to me as novel to see an anime hero who acts the goof but is secretly the ultimate badass.

But, let's face it.  Both Abel and Tres are exactly the sort of characters players would hand the GM if it were a RPG.
