Title: So I started reading Gegege no Kitarou
Post by: Crazy_Blue_Haired_Chick on March 31, 2024, 03:43:56 PM
It's a classic and influential manga from the 1960s. I have always liked yokai and this series is all about that. I saw some people talking about World of Darkness games on another thread and I think there would be an audience for a ttrpg about a shadowy underworld of disgusting and disturbing ghosts and monsters.

And no, his mother is not any better looking.

There was a chapter of Gegege No Kitaro included in one of Fredric L. Schodt's book on manga, wasn't there?

It was there as a representative sample of Japanese horror manga.

Unfortunately, my copies of his books are all in storage, and the weather isn't good for accessing them.

Think I have that book or one similar. Though it may be lost now.

Damn! Honestly, I got this from a pirate site online but it is a very good read for all ages, if you can handle the creep and gore factor. I really like how diverse and creative yokai are, very rich for storytelling and gaming.
