This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Semi-Underappreciated Music

One of the nice things about this day and age of music for the masses, you get plenty of unheard bands getting more noise for their works. But what about those that have made or at least did an album or three but stopped to rest on their laurels? For me that's my thought when it comes to turning on my Winamp and listening to Kid Rock and his album Rock and Roll Jesus. Sure it's nothing ground breaking for him, but there are just some songs I sing along with (The Title Track, So Hott, Sugar, to name a few) Does that mean the album is a waste? Hard to say. But it does make me wonder about the acts I remember growing up in the late 80s, 90s and later on. Will they still be as good? Well we'll see

Mostly I'm posting this because I'm loving a good part of this album and hoping Kid Rock continues to produce.

I dunno.  In the last week I've picked up Brother Cain's Seeds and Emily Autumns Opheliac.

One is, of course, almost 15 years old and I enjoy the one song I remembered just as well as I did when I saw them in concert... with CoC if I recall...

The other is 'new shit', hot off the Myspace phenomenon... or something.

I've never felt that music ever really aged badly. At best you gained a greater appreciation for what was really good or bad as you got older and stopped liking shit that was never, ever, good... but you were too young and dumb to realize it at the time...
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

Spike,

Well I guess for me I just like to see more of Kid Rock's stuff...around. But that's probably due to the fact there's no more music videos any more. At least not like the old days. That and my radio station is kind of...kid-fied at times. That I blame however on the geographical location.
