And you're stereotyping an entire group based on the actions of a few. Most klansmen, like most muslims, are peaceful and just want to be left alone and not have their rights violated.

Only a few klansmen actually commit violent crimes, just like only a few muslims commit acts of terrorism. Klansmen have religious views that may seem offensive to others, but their right to hold those views should be respected just like we should respect the rights of muslims to hold their views even tho we may find many of them, like their oppression of women, offensive.

I think the KKK and Al Qaeda are a reasonable comparisson except for the fact that Al Qaeda actually go out and do stuff whereas the KKK just sit on their arses drinking moonshine and talking about how the US has gone to hell ever since Kennedy came to power.

If Dominus is anything to go by, if Al Qaeda really were like the KKK then the WTC would still be standing and every web forum in the world would be full of guys bleating about how hard done by terrorists are.
