One song that really should be adopted by D&D as an anthem is this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tOo2OMUhB8), it really captures the mystery, menace and excitement of dungeon crawls.
I wonder if this song would be as successful as it is now, if it wouldn't have been among "The Hobbit" soundtracks.

I always thought a lyric-free version of Metallica's Battery would fit--you begin with the kingdom at peace--and then dragon!

I was somewhat disappointed to find out last summer from Geoff Downes that it was about the breathless coverage of the Wimbledon tournament.
