I believe in evolution

I believe only in evolution and at the same time    am agnostic. Our cells came from assorted chemicals getting the pounding of their existence when the moon was much close than it is now and the tides covered continents. Before that they came from the left overs from when our star formed. That which of course came    from previous stars that have gone kaput. Those from the same. Eventually before we had some stars we had a shit load of matter and anti matter, just thankfully for us there was at least just one more matter than their was anti matter. Then well before that there really was nothing until something started a reaction. Now if your happen to feel that this cause of a reaction was our higher power. A force   of some sort we   yet and may never understand. Then sure we are close to being on the same page. However if you feel it was some gr
eater plan, that it knows or even can care about us, then well our pages are weirdly different.

Do you hear that?  It's the sound of chemicals pounding my cells...it's the sound of....VICTORY!!!!!

This is fucking awesome.  I nominate it be stickied with a warning.

Forgetting the porn and focusing on evolution, I think not believing in evolution is like not believing in gravity and instead insisting angels push everything down.

Basically, evolution is a proven fact, and it's proven because we can and have seen it happen, and we are seeing it happen in the world around us.

Consider bacteria: When penicillin was invented, there were no antibiotic resistant bacteria in the world. Then people start using, and over using, antibiotics left and right as they were the first "wonder drug" that actually did some good.

As a result of massive overuse of antibiotics, especially in mexico, (When is america going to get smart and nuke that filthy dungheap? It's nothing but trouble to us in every way imaginable...) we now have large numbers of bacteria that are resistant, if not immune, to many types of antibiotics.

Where did these new, improved bacteria come from? Evolution. They evolved from normal bacteria following the principles of evolution to the letter.

Even before antibiotics were introduced and widespread, a small percentage of bacteria had random elements in their genetic code that made them less susceptible to antibiotics than most bacteria. Before antibiotics were introduced, these factors were essentially invisible and unimportant.

After the introduction of antibiotics, these factors became very important. When large numbers of baxteria were exposed to antibiotics, the ones with the random traits that made them resistant had a greater chance to survive, and a much, much higher precentage of them did survive. As a result, the next generations of bacteria had a much, much higher percentage of resistant genes in them than did the previous ones. Also, some of them had a stronger resistant traits than ones in earlier generations due random variances in DNA reproduction. This evolutionary process repeated time after time until there were new strains of bacteria that had, thru evoltutionary principes, almost complete resistance to penicillin and most other early antibiotics.

So now we must develop new types and generations of anti-biotics to combat them, and the cycle will likely repeat itself over and over.

The existance of resistant bacteria pretty much proves evolution. The 'creationists" and "intelligent designers" should be ignored until they begij trying to spread their brand of voodoo science into public schools, at which point they should be crushed.

Evolution is a theory, a theory with a lot of convincing evidence but still only a theory. (By the way, I'm not a creationist whacko, just trying to point out the truth).

Any Mexicans want to weigh in and rip the guy a new one?

And we're back to science, but science tinged by it's proximity to a complete bigoted twat (Nox, you'll notice I didn't say racist).

snip yet more science.

And then science gets overcome by insanity (note the degredation of the spelling).  Though I do like the thought of ID proponents and Creationists practising Voodoo :) .

What do you think the word "theory" means in this context?

Uh..dude....just in case you didn't know....you're debating a spambot...

Shine on....

Well evolution doesn't require a GM and uses conceptual mytholgy and tarot cards for character creation.  Its based more on...this is what you meant, yeah?

I'm not debating him, einstein, just since the topic of evolution came up I wanted to state my view on it.

Creationists and Intelligent deisgners like to claim that evolution isn't a valid theory because no one can completely explain every detail of it, yet.

Well, no one had fully explained exactly how gravity works, so it's only a 'theory' too. Given that maybe some of these people who don't believe in evolution should be consistent and refuse to believe in gravity as well. To prove their consistency, I invite them to jump off a high cliff.

I've seen that claim before and am intrigued by it; these same people are the ones who "know" Heaven exists yet cannot describe an inch of it.

Also, I admit that I'm curious Nox, is there ANY country in the world other than the US that you don't want nuked?

Seriously, what's your beef with brown people?
