Okay, almost everyone has had a Root Beer flost sometime in their lives...and maybe even a Coca cola or Cherry Coke version of that.
How about Mountain Dew?
Has anyone tried ice cream in a glass of Mt. Dew?
There are at least 4 colors of flavors of Mountain Dew (HudpobIQ) these days - anyone ever tried the flavors and figured out which one tastes the best with ice cream?

I know that blue stuff is foul.
Ok, let's just stick with the green stuff for now...
Think about which flavors go with lemon and lime.
You can't go wrong with Vanilla. Preferably a rich vanilla.
Chocolate's out (though it's great with Coke).
Strawberry is worth a try, but I don't have much hope.
I can't think of much else at the moment. Maybe a Sherbet.
I actually prefer red mountain Dew to any other kind. Although the new blue kinds (voltage) tastes alright to me too.
Ice cream mixed with both blue ...and then a day later with red MT. Dew I've tried in the past week. Gotta experiment more with the ration of ice cream to drink - but I think the Code Red Mt. Dew with Ice cream was a better mixture.

Yes, there is.
Its the word : HudpobIQ
Hud = Mountain
po = morning
bIQ = water
Literal meaning -
Morning Water of the Mountain.
About 10 to 11 years ago at a Klingon fan campout called the Klingon year games in southern Ohio a Klingon from Minnesota came up with the translation. That might have been the week/weekend wherte John M. Ford was our guest.
(YES - that John M. Ford , author of the Final Reflection and a whole bunch of gaming books, adventures, and supplements over the years)

I'm disappointed. I was hoping the literal translation would be something like "Day-Glo Thunder Water" or "Battle-In-A-Bottle" or "Yellow #5, And Lots Of It!" or somethin'.
But no.
Tsk, tsk, tsk.
My friend uses sherbert (green) in dew. I don't like Dew but it sounds reasonable. (I drink DP or Root Beer.)
Mt Dew float? I just threw up a little.

TRY IT.
Heck - next TRAVELLER game I ever get to host or GM I now have more choices for alien or exotic looking deonks.
Drinks like this are edible - I should know, I'm named Ed.

Ed, I SWEAR you just made me laugh out loud.
Ed,
I may have missed it, but what type of ice cream did you use to mix with the drinks?

Vanilla ice cream usually works best when making floats - root beer or other wise.
Have heard rumor some people try choclate ice cream sometimes.

I'll pipe in with the Green Sherbert in the regular Dew. A friend of mine makes it for his kids and I've tried it at their birthday parties. Actually pretty good. Now I want one ... dammit.
Look, as far as OFF TOPIC topics go - you gotta admit this is a pretty mellow and friendly thing to chat about.
Just got a 12 pack of Orange HuDpobIQ earlier - contemplating that with ice cream tonight.
Again, glasses or cups of this kind of thing might make for an amusing prop for a Sci-Fi RPG night.
