This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I thought this was a fantastic movie about faith (upholding it and the lack thereof) and fanaticism. My wife was bored to tears. Anyone else?

Never heard of it until now. I checked IMDB, it seems decent.

One Horse Town

It is pure, distilled Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.

I prefer the directors other films, personally.

I was working up a review on this for the blog.  Movies that mimic RPG experiences, rather than the movies that are running in the background for atmosphere, like Excalibur or Conan.

I watched it the other night. It is very good! Recently someone recommended Solomon Kane for an example of the WFRP feel, and while I think he was right, this one is better.

Insufficient Metal

It's in my queue, I should get to it soon.

I watched it over the weekend and it renewed my faith in movies since I had watched Skyline, Monsters, and Valhala Rising prior to watching Black Death.
"Meh."

I saw it a couple days ago. It was very good. It was also depressing as hell. I don't plan on rewatching it.

But it was an awesome, awesome way to portray switching classes, don't you think?  Better than "Hmmm...  I think I want my cleric to be a fighter now."  :)

I hunted this down as background inspiration for my Vampire Dark Ages game, and found it very entertaining.

The film was very impressive, the fighting and the filmography were excellent. I felt it captured the mood perfectly. Some fine cameo appearances (and ensemble cast), and a great series of moral choices followed by a brilliantly ambigious epilog.

I can see why the women might find it tedious.

I watched it last week. In short, the Christians are assholes, the pagans are assholes, there's the protagonist who is not an asshole, but at the end he turns into an asshole.

Some cool sword-fights, otherwise I'm not really a fan. The Navigator* was about ten times the "medieval plague" movie.

* Not the movie about the kid who flies in a giant Pee Wee Herman.
