Werekoala, he got topic banned from Off Topic and then stopped coming around the site altogether. I know a couple other boards he reads (SJ Games & RPG.net) but he doesn't post those places anymore either (at least not under any name I've ever heard).

Dammit, James.  You've got me thinking Pundit is onto something here.  I just talked him into reopening the goddamned bagel thread but removing Nox's name from the title to avoid unnecessary trouble.  Now you go and start a new thread stirring up this old shit.

I'd really, really like to give you the benefit of the doubt here.  I'd really like to assume you weren't causing trouble on purpose.  But this just looks bad, this thing where you start a new thread invoking the name of the single most disruptive poster in the history of the board.  So I'm going to give you chance to dig yourself out of this hole by asking you two simple questions:

1)  Did you try simply sending Nox a PM first?  The dudes not banned, it would have forwarded a notice to his email addy.

2)  If not, why the fuck not?

Much that it pains me to say it, my first thought upon seeing this thread was exactly what Pundit posted, that this was purely to stire up shit over that stupid fucking bagel thread.

The thread in question was about nanotech in games. I've just finished listening to Michael Crichton's Prey (decent book as long as you don't mind being treated like an idiot and given a Deus ex Machina ending). The talk about Nox (whic, by the way, was not started by me) reminded me there had been a thread by him about it and I wanted to chat more.

It has nothing to do with Pundit, despite what his ego thinks. Yes, I think he's a retard. Yes, I think he's a blow hard. Yes, everyone knows I think he's a boil on the ass of gaming.

But that doesn't change that this thread had fuck all to do with him until he decided to make it about himself.

I did not send a PM because I assumed that since he does not come here he would never know. I've gotten a bunch of PMs from here and never seen an email, so it didn't cross my mind he'd get an email.

Why is it I'm under the gun? If I can point out the occurrences of the last few days:

1) Koltar bumps a thread about bagels. It had started as a joke about Nox (which he'd played along with) but at that point had nothing to do with him.

2) Pundit locks that thread.

3) I ask why.

4) Christmas Ape points something out to me and I say where I'd misread a statement and gotten the wrong idea.

5) Pundit calls me an idiot for making the mistake I'd already recognized and copped to. He then says he locked the thread because "he saw no reason for it."

6) Serious Paul calls him on it.

7) Pundit unlocks the thread but censors the title

I start a thread asking if anyone has seen Nox because I want to talk to him and Pundit calls me a liar, makes blanket statements about my motives, and then threatens to ban me. Yes, I fucked up and jumped to the bait the first time, but ignored his second bit of blather hoping it would go away. I thought it was RPG.net whose mods threatened to ban people and baited them to make it happen, not here?

Also, when listening to Pundit about my motives, keep in mind that this is the guy who, after having talked with me in depth in regards to my excitement about Forward... To Adventure!, came back one week later in another thread and said that every post I'd ever made about his game was just an attempt to bash the game and bring it down.

Do a search for threads about FtA I've participated in if you don't believe me. I was jazzed about the game and interested in how the combat system would play out. Then when I expressed a dislike of his purposeful choice to make the game as much a carbon copy of D&D as he could I became a heretic to be attacked and my history was rewritten to accomodate my all-encompassing disdain. And that's not the first time he rewrote my history and ignored perfectly friendly and supportive things I've said, or help I've tried to give him when he asked about what kind of campaigns to run next.

The man's got blinders on, and sees what he wants to see.
