Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). Do you have a dog?

Tell me about your dog.

I just got a dog after years without one.

She's a beautiful German Shepherd, mostly East European working dog lines with some German show dog in her.  She has full-blood wolf within 12 generations.  Unfortunately I can't paper her--but fortunately that means she didn't cost me 4-5 figures. :D

Her name is Niska.

I'm training her in PPD and considering some Schutzhund training as well. All her commands are in Russian.

Here's my beauty:

Here's my little fellow:

This is Ozzy.  Half Boston Terrier, half Pug.  We've had him for almost one year now. After growing up with black Labrador Retrievers almost all of my life, he's the smallest dog I've ever owned, but a fine little animal. Almost all muscle -- 20 pounds of big dog.

He's mad for food, so I'm training him to be a circus dog.  He'll already leap through a hoop, walk on a teeter-totter, and climb trees. Agility racing may be in his future.  It's fun having a dog that can jump 4 feet into the air almost from a stand-still.

He has some food allergy issues common with Pugs, so he can get warty, pink, and itchy if he gets into the wrong stuff.  Gassy little son of a bitch, too.

You ARE the enemy. You are not from "our ranks". You never were. You and the filth that are like you have never had any sincere interest in doing right by this hobby. You\'re here to aggrandize your own undeserved egos, and you don\'t give a fuck if you destroy gaming to do it.

I have two dogs and a cat.

This is Zeno. He's a smooth collie (blue merle).

This is Toffee. She's a rough collie (sable).

Trouble getting her to sit still for a photo, huh?  Most of my photos of Oz are empty frames or high frequency blurs.

I've got two, a 20 year old dignified silky black longhair male named Ch'mee, and a sweet adorable 7 year old shorthair tortoiseshell female named Athena. Ch'mee weighs about 8 lbs - he's all fluff - and Athena about 11.

I had a pug. I've never met an animal that farted so much. She died last year from old age and hard living. I was her 4th owner (at least). She was a self-mutilator. When she got stressed, she'd chase her tail and bite badly enough to require medical attention. She also was a hell of a mouser, for half-blind. That's how I got her. She was thrown out for messing in thehouse (that's right, free-feed her and leave her locked up all the time, she's gonna shit inside you goddamn redneck twat) and had something scratch her eye. It clouded, and she lost most of the vision in that eye. Plus it was August in NC. That ain't healthy for a short-snouted dog.

Within a year, she'd stopped.

My current is a Jack Russel. Calmest jack ever. Also a great huntress. Took me 2 years to teach her the crate isn't a bad thing because most of her puppyhood was spent locked in it. I got her becasue my FIL's toy boston attacked her constantly.

My SIL has  a habit of bringing home puppies, not taking the time with 'em, and then giving 'em away. Pugsley and Minnie are just 2  At least Minnie went to my MIL, so she didn't have many bad habits to break. Pookie had been fending for herself long enough I had to teach her how to behave. Plus one of the nephews loved to hurt her.

I'm currently in the market for another dog. I want an Austrailian shepherd. I've been around some, and know what I'd be getting into. I wanted Minnie because my uncle had some, and they were wonderful. I knew they weren't quiet!

I have a cat, too. Cheech is a scrawny bastid. He is fed, been wormed and checked by a vet. He apparently is just naturally skinny. Named because we got him from a stoner friend :) His brother, Chong, was a fat beauty, but he ran off :(.

Behold, The Queen Sheeba!!!!

14 year old siberian husky. I grew up with German Shepherds (mom, grandma and great grandma trained them for army/security companies) and this husky is a hand full. The second picture has her with my mom's new favorite, Indie, a Newfie.

Ch'mee is like that. I raised him from kittenhood and he's always been rail thin under that puff of fur. He eats twice as much as Athena, and never gains an ounce. For his age, he's perfectly healthy.

No.

I do not have a dog.

But I want one!

I want either a German Shepherd, a Great Dane, or one of those greyhound things. A Barsoi (sp?). Also, Irish Wolfhound.

Not in this apartment, though. Furthermore, somebody would have to walk the dog every day at 7am, because I would *not* be available for that.

It could be raining, you know. That would not be good.

I'd love a wolfhound, but I don't want to lose my pet in short order :( They only live about 9 years.

I like this thread!  I don't have a dog (urban apartment dweller) but I love dogs and would love to have one.  We've got two ass-kicking cats, but I'll wait for that thread.

I'd also love to have a goat.  Goats are really awesome.  They get into all kinds of shit and can eat anything.
