While it's cool that the USPS is recognizing the anniversary of D&D, would it have been asking too much to have some art from truly iconic products like the original AD&D Player's Handbook?  Except for the Elmore piece, I didn't even recognize any of the art.  A charitable explanation might be that they couldn't get the rights, but I suspect it's actually just another example of the "Stalinization" of D&D's past.

Middle top row looks familiar, and I know I've seen that Tiamat piece before. I think the purple worm is right out of one of the 3rd Ed or higher Monster Manuals.

Surprised I didn't see a Beholder.

Anyway, the Elmore piece seals the deal.

This is how I always feel when, say, a mobile game comes out based on a long running I.P.

It's always years in and still missing real iconic characters with 70 years of lore, but damned if they don't crank out plenty of flash in the pan 'modern audience' crappy characters.

What's that? Submariner? Let me poop out a dozen other stronk whamen characters from the last 10 years that no one cares about, then we'll see. When the character you want does drop, we'll be sure and use the modern costume and not one he's worn for 50 years.
I'm a middle aged guy with a lot of free time, looking for similar, to form a group for regular gaming. You should be chill, non-woke, and have time on your hands.
